This is a powerful little painting of The Netherlands, 6 1/8" by 8 3/4", painted on a wood panel, and a narrow simple frame, signed at lower left in the paint by well listed German artist ADOLF STADEMANN (1824-1895). Its diminutive size notwithstanding, the wonderful quality of this oil---in particular the masterful handling of the winter light---is immediately apparent...

This work is from her minimalist series. Anne Lane studied art at George mason University in Virginia, completed her education at Saint Patrick’s college, Ireland, where she studied theology and philosophy. The tonal and contemplated intensity of her paintings reflect her 10 years spent working as an artist under the desert sun of New Mexico. Her vibrant style, resonant with color and baroque in detail, swoons its delight over her canvases...

Max Kuehne, New York, 1880-1968. This vivid impressionist painting is an exceptional example of Max Kuehne's work. It is 15 1/2" by 20" in a 3" original period American Impressionist gold leaf frame. It is in perfect condition and is signed lower right. It came directly out of the artist's estate. Born in Halle, Germany in 1880, Max Kuehne was a colorist who created cheerful landscapes that appear to be painted spontaneously and with freshness...

Swiss or German School, circa 1860.
Oil on paper, with a gilt sand mat.
Painting Size: 6” x 4.5” Oval

Oil or acrylic on canvasboard abstract painting, larger sized, at 28" by 40" as framed, signed at lower left "KAYE". The art takes after any number of modern painters' work, but the arrows imagery at the bottom portion, suggests to me a bit of Uruguayan painter Joaquin Torres Garcia. The creator of this work (and two others by the same artist I have listed) was probably a talented amateur with an excellent sense of color and a knowledge of modern art...
For some time now, in art-historical expert circles, a painting causes concern. Discovered a good ten years ago in Schwarzach im Pongau ( Province of Salzburg ) it shows a boy at the age of about six years. In spite of partly contrary opinion, everything indicates at the moment that the portrayed child represents Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. This would, as far as is known, be the earliest image of the composer. The Mozart town Salzburg however, is not only happy about it. The reason for that, the la...
Colorful oil on canvas unframed painting (24" by 20") featuring lily pads on a woodland pond, signed at lower right by listed California artist JOHN MARTIN HISS (1891-1972). It likely dates to about the 1950's. Hiss was essentially a talented hobbyist artist; he is best known as a physician and orthopedic surgeon who devised remedial treatments for disorders of the feet. The work is in excellent vintage condition. I note an inconsequential hairline scratch at mid right.
The untouched signature is shown in this close-up photo and the paint used in the signature is found through out the original abstract painting. It is in untouched condition. Refer to painting.
Oil on canvas painting, probably English late 19th century, unsigned, of a small body of water, two cottages and a man in a rowboat completing this traditional subject. The work measures 16" by 19 1/2" (24" by 28" in newish framing). The painting could almost be called "Hudson River style" but it is clearly of European origin. Condition appears good overall to the casual observer. Up close there are some issues: I note a small loss at far left in tree, what was once a large roughly 8" boome...
