A vintage watercolor of a Native American warrior seen in profile as he draws his arrow to hunt prey outside of the picture to the right. The work measures 13 1/2" by 10 1/2" inside the mat and 19 1/4" by 15" framed (no glass). The work is unsigned. There are some old watercolor stains at lower right which seem to blend into the imagery. There is some abrasion showing as whitish area trailing vertically down from mid-arm at right...

A watercolor painting of tropical hibiscus, signed at lower left by listed California artist MARCIA A. PATRICK (1875-1964). The work measures 16 1/2" by 11 1/2" inside the mat and 22 1/2" by 17 3/4" framed. Patrick was in Los Angeles by 1910. A physician, she is known to have painted florals and landscapes. In 1937 the prestigious Stendahl Gallery held an exhibition of her work. Patrick was active in local art clubs, including Painters and Sculptors of Los Angeles, in 1936-37...
Watercolor with touches of gouache painting, on heavy grade watercolor paper, the subject a small ranch on a coastline, 18" by 29" (26" by 39" framed), unsigned, the subject I feel possibly in Hawaii or Australia, given the scenery and the obvious tropical touch (the plantation-shutters and banana trees, and the detail of the front of the structure). Unfortunately I have not been able to locate a signature anywhere...
A beautiful, exceedingly fresh watercolor painting of a high mountain range in late fall peak color, signed at lower left by listed Utah artist FLORA DAVIS FISHER (1891-1984). The work is by a woman artist from Provo, who studied art at Brigham Young University. Her work tends to be landscapes in oil and watercolor, often featuring the region's high altitude aspen trees. Measures 16 1/2" by 22" (23" by 29" in simple white framing).
One of three works in my shop by the same artist, F. KENWOOD GILES of Bermuda (1899/1900-1972), is this watercolor on paper painting, 18" by 22" (the largest of the three works) inside the mat, 26" by 30" as framed, (no glass and frame loose), the subject a white-roofed island homes on a finger of land bordered by water on several sides, flowering shrubs, coconut palms, a few pines or cedars, a meandering unpaved road and some small boats in the harbor completing the happy scene...
This remarkable and rare work, 25 3/4" by 34" (30 1/2" by 39" in contemporary blue framing behind glass), is titled at lower right "Marseille Le Vieux Port" and is signed there "W. Howard". At first glance one thinks this a print of a Raoul Dufy painting, perhaps an exhibition poster, but upon closer inspection it is seen to be in fact an original watercolor by an obviously highly talented artist. The artist is WING HOWARD (1921-1998), associated with Pennsylvania...

A pretty watercolor of a lakeshore, titled on backing "Reservoir Cristaline/France", signed at lower right illegibly and dated 1959. The work measures 12" by 15 1/4" inside the mat and 21" by 24" in a gold frame. The signature reads something like "B N Fleur" or "Fleury" but to date despite considerable efforts in that direction, I have not been able to identify the obviously talented artist. Watercolor is in excellent condition, frame has wear, especially on bottom and right sides...
