Paul Jacoulet 1896-1960 French This is one of the finest color block prints by French artist Paul Jacoulet. The title: Retour De La Jungle, Tondano: Celebes, This image was created and printed in 1948, Pencil signed, with the Sparrow seal. This image measures 15 3/4X12 inches. The artist used a fine coral powder to give dimension to the compositional colors. He also experimented with Gofun, an egg white derivative that produced a rich opaque effect...

This is a puzzling piece; a print in colors, appears to be a lithograph, not an offset, measuring 13 1/4" by 9 1/8" inside the present mat (21 1/4" by 25 1/4" as framed). It is signed "Picasso" in the plate at lower right in the image and dated below that 21-6-20. I don't believe this is from the period, nor do I believe it is listed in a catalogue raisonne; rather, it appears to be some kind of later reproduction perhaps after a drawing or painting...

A very interesting etching of what appears to be Paris' Montmartre section, (the windmill a famous feature, painted by many artists), signed in pencil in the lower right margin "B. Vilard". Surprisingly I do not see a listing for an artist by this name---could possibly be a pen name.. The work measures 8 1/2" by 11" inside the mat and 13 3/4" by 16 1/4" framed. It is very clean and fresh, despite likely dating to the first half of the 20th century. Note the subtle blue/brown colors.

Pencil signed limited edition print, unframed, titled at bottom left margin "Minnesota Farm" and signed and dated at lower right by the by noted American WPA Regionalist artist ADOLF DEHN (1895-1968). This lithograph sheet measures 12 3/4" by 16 1/4". The artist printed 100 copies ("100 prints" at lower left margin in his hand in pencil). This one has been abused in its lifetime, but, who knows how many of the one hundred remain, and in what condition they might be found...

This is a mid 1940's work by the Nebraska-born artist. Thiessen's father worked in printing in Omaha. The young Thiessen went to work for an architectural firm, and studied at university in Nebraska. He became an interior designer and decorator...

A vintage, circa 1940 lithograph print of a man's head, pencil signed at lower right margin "Barsick" and "imp." appears in pencil at lower center (meaning, artist printed it himself/herself). I do not see an obvious listed artist with which this signature might correspond. The piece measures 13 1/4" by 10 1/4" inside the mat and 17 1/2" by 14 3/4" in simple black strip frame. There is significant heavy foxing in the margins which could be minimized with new mat. Research might well turn up ...
