A black and white photograph image (not sure if actually an original photo) titled at lower left margin "The Meadow Pool", and pencil signed by the artist in lower right margin, the subject a meadow near mountains, measuring 9" by 11 1/4" and 16 1/4" by 17 3/4" framed. This is an example of the now sought-after mid century photographic work of STEPHEN H. WILLARD (1894-1966). Willard was born in Illinois and was in Southern California at age two...

Two fine engravings of Mount Vernon, and the White House, each framed and measuring 6 3/4" by 8 3/4". These appear to be the same images that have appeared on US currency in the past, and the very high quality type of printing (intaglio?) is the same process. These were produced by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, either as printing proofs, or perhaps as official souvenirs to be sold in a gift shop setting----the Bureau's name is printed at the bottom of each...

Original old photo of the imposing Palace of Fine Arts building in the Marina section of San Francisco, the photo originally in a brown tone, enhanced tastefully with light blue tints. The building was erected for the 1915 Panama Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco, and the complex is all that remains of the construction undertaken for that event. Today it and the park-like grounds remain a graceful and familiar part of the San Francisco urban landscape...

This etching appears at first glance to be almost certainly a work of famous Dutch artist Rembrandt van Rijn, but further study shows it to be a 19th century print by Chevalier IGNACE JOSEPH DE CLAUSSIN (1766-1844), ardent, eccentric artist in his own right and a scholar and copyist of graphic work by the Dutch master. De Claussin published in 1824 a catalogue raisonne that at the time was a major contribution to the scholarly study of Rembrandt's prints...

Original 19th century lithograph "A Scene in Old Ireland", by Currier and Ives, the famous American printmakers. This is a true antique hand-colored lithograph and not a later restrike. The work is framed in a late 19th century wood frame with gold inner fillet. Wood backing with rotary saw marks indicates it was framed after the 1870's. Measurements are 12" by 15 3/4" as framed (margins are ample but might have been trimmed a little in early days)...

Original scarce to rare etching of the year 1910, "The Avenue, Valenciennes", signed at lower right margin in pencil by the important American etcher, illustrator, critic, author and teacher JOSEPH PENNELL (1857-1926). The print measures 10" by 13" inside the mat (12 1/2" by 15 1/2" in the framing). After the signature, the "imp." indicates that Pennell would have printed this himself...

A vintage early 20th century photography of a dirt road bordered by thick vegetation, with hand coloring applied to the trees and elsewhere, signed and blind stamped at lower right by the noted pioneering Oregon coastal photographer, FRANK WOODFIELD (1879-1955). The piece measures 9" by 11" in its circa 1920's frame. A little internet research reveals that this is by an Astoria, Oregon-born entrepreneur who was introduced to photography in 1910 by one Elmer Alan Coe...

Vintage hazy focus, colorized photo of coastal Santa Monica, looking north and west towards Malibu, 11 1/2" by 9 5/8" as framed in pleasing Southwest style design wood frame. On the frame reverse is written in and old hand in ink "Santa Monica Bay" and "No. 5044". This was found in Connecticut and I recently brought it back home. During its journey around the country it acquired some surface scratches and other issues, as shown in the photos...

A decorative print after a seventeenth century ink drawing by Dutch Golden Age painter GERBRAND VAN DEN EECKHOUT (1621-1674), titled on reverse label "Zeichner vor einem Bauernhause Sitzend" ("Artist Seated in Front of a Farmhouse"). The print measures 5 3/4" by 7 3/4" (15 3/4" by 17" framed). The brownish ink and pebbled paper creates a very convincing piece that could almost be mistaken for an actual old drawing. Add some Old Master charm to your interior without spending what Old Master dr...

In one panel, a brave fires an arrow as his dogs watch; in the middle panel, Indians around a camp fire watch as one of their members fires a flaming arrow to the sky; and in the final panel, a brave with headdress sits, cradling a rifle in his lap. A large print of the steam and sail ship "La Touraine", the sheet approximately 25" by 36", total dimensions of frame 34 1/2" by 45 1/2". This is a highly decorative item for the nautical and marine art collector. The artist who created the painting on which the print was based was American FRED PANSING (1844-1916). His original art is expensive and scarce, but many prints were made after the paintings. Pansing was born in Germany and was in New York City by 1865, a sailor. Shortly he went ...

A large lithograph print, the sheet 28 1/2" by 22 3/4", unframed, signed at center right with his monogram "JR" and star symbol, dated there 1950. This is a work of American illustrator artist JAMES REYNOLDS (1896-1996). The imagery of flowers and leaves reminds of the work of American twentieth century artist Charles Burchfield. Reynolds is often confused in art auction records and biographies with western American contemporary artist James Reynolds.

By the noted illustrator artist RICHARD STINE (1941-) this is a print, "Mad woman trying to bury delicate feelings once and for all", hand signed in blue ball point at lower left. This does not seem to be a limited edition but it is hand signed. Stine is a familiar name due to his uniquely humorous and whimsical images, which though cartoonish delve into philosophy, and, an online description writes, "love, art, freedom, isolation, desire, conflict, dreams, creativity". He drew prolifically a...

GARRISON (1881-1964). The classic view of the arcaded breezeway at the beloved mission, still a tourist attraction today, is as California as can be. Garrison was born in Minnesota and was in Cal...
