Some time ago one Connie Elrod offered me a set of the Maki zodiac in a format never seen before or since. These are not pulled from cement blocks. Rather they seem to be printed lithographs. One James Imai, a friend of Maki who lives in California, commissioned Maki to do a special zodiac set for the Lunar Year. Imai seems to have sent a card every year to friends. Imai sent them to his friend James Elrod seemingly one every year for 12 years...

A pencil signed color print, titled at bottom margin "Springtime in Charleston", by listed South Carolina artist VIRGINIA FOUCHE BOLTON (1929-2004). The work, 13 1/2" by 16 3/4" (18" by 24" in gold metal framing) is pencil signed by the artist at lower right and numbered there 1551/3000. Fouche's watercolors of southern genre and familiar South Carolina scenes are offered at auction in the South.

An original gallery poster from Old Town Circle Gallery, San Diego, for a September/October 1981 exhibition of the works of the artist, YAACOV AGAM (1928-). In typical style, the artist has HAND SIGNED the poster in color markers at lower right; he did it in that vibrating, repeating style for which he is known, each signature in a different color marker. Agam's works have sold at auction to about the $700,000 level, and frequently into six figures, making him an important Israeli artist...

Pencil signed, numbered limited edition print, 18" by 21 1/2" inside the mat, (25" by 28 3/4" as framed), titled "Pareja con Kiva" ("Couple with Kiva") by noted Arizona-based artist AMADO MAURILLO PENA. Every so often, Maki decided to create an all-white print to which he added two or three small bits of color. Daniel Tretiak talked of Maki’s fondness for adding balance to his prints especially with the use of moons or splashes of color. Poem Y is an example. The print is beautifully textured with the colored spots placed in smooth areas among the overall embossing. It measures 17 1/8 square inches and is no.15 of an edition of 50.
