Member of Southern Printmakers
This is an original drypoint etching by American Southern artist Ruth Doris Swett. The title of this etching is Deer Isle Spruces, created when she was summering up in Maine. This etching is pencil signed, titled and dedicated to: Margarest Strong. The image measures 12X8 7/8 inches. Printed on a medium weight wove type paper in an edition of 50.
This is an interesting example of a monotype, in which art is created on a piece of glass which is then pressed against paper to produce a unique image. The artist is well listed and his paintings sell well at Canadian auctions. At first glance, this work could easily pass for a watercolor; a monotype is something of a hybrid, with characteristics of prints and original art. It measures 17 3/8" by 13 1/2" inside the mat; with an additional 5 1/4" of mat and frame on a side...

The print is signed in pencil at lower right and dated there 1956, when the artist was 67 years old. At lower left in pencil is "Ed. 100". ONE OF A NUMBER BY THE ARTIST IN MY SHOP**This is a small etching (the sheet 7 1/2" by 5 1/2", respectably matted but not framed), by the noted California artist HARRIET GENE ROUDEBUSH (1908-1998), titled at lower left margin "Russian Hill" and pencil signed at lower right by the artist. Three fine engravings of Mount Vernon, Monticello, and Independence Hall, nicely mounted and framed together vertically. The framed piece measures 16 1/2" by 11". These appear to be the same images that appear on US currency, and the very high quality of the printing (intaglio?) is similar. One wonders if these have been produced by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, either as printing proofs, or perhaps as official souvenirs to be sold in a gift shop setting...
A circa 1920's to 1940's old reprint of the much-loved classic Currier and Ives lithograph "American Winter Scenes", with a horse-drawn sleigh heading towards the snug home at right in which a party appears to be held. The piece measures 23 1/2" by 30 1/2" in what I believe is a birdseye maple frame. Condition is very good, vintage condition. The original 19th century lithograph is very expensive; this reasonable alternative will provide the same decorative punch.
Albert Decaris, French, 1901-1989, "Paris Construction," engraving, image size 16 1/8 x 21 1/8 inches, c. 1940s, edition of 100, pencil signed and editioned.

The original edition is given as 400 or 500 examples; later restrikes might exist. I do not know if this might be one of them. The paper is very thin and delicate and appears ribbed as would laid style paper. I do not see any watermarks...

A circa 1940 lithograph, signed in the plate, and bearing pencil signature of the printer in margin under the mat, by the noted California Scene artist PHIL PARADISE (1905-1997). This seems to be a scarce work, as I see only two other examples after an online search. Those two were pencil signed by the artist and numbered out of an edition of 100. So we can assume that this was a limited edition. Perhaps this particular example was a proof, accounting for its being signed by the printer, "P,...

A vintage woodcut print in black with touches of yellow and red in the windows of the picturesque seaside structures, unsigned, titled in the image "NOEL", white speckles (sprayed?) indicating snowflakes, 12 1/2" by 9 1/2" framed. The scene resembles Maine villages such as Port Clyde or Castine. Likely a work from that region, circa 1940's, possibly 1930's. I opened up the backing and found no further information.
