Daniel Tretiak, after publishing his book The Life and Works of Haku Maki in 2007, found that he had more to say about prints as they came into his life. And so he wrote Research Notes and published them on this site.

Ovesized Japanese limited edition copperplate etching titled “Makinohama Beach” by Tanaka Ryohei (1933-1919). Pencil-signed, dated 2006, and numbered 19/100 in the lower margin. Paper size: 24 1/4" x 13" (image: 20 1/8" x 9"). This etching was never framed and is in excellent condition.

David Muirhead Bone 1876-1953 Scottish "This is one of the most famous prints from the British Etching Revival" This image is titled: A Spanish Good Friday,created and printed in 1925 by British artist David Muirhead Bone. This pencil signed drypoint measures 12 5/8X8 inches, printed on a laid type sheet with deckeled edges. Numbered as XXVII lower left corner. The image depicts the solemn festival at the end of Passion Week. Ref. Campbell Dodgson 412 .

A PAIR of woodcut prints on very delicate thin paper, one featuring a decorative flower vase and perhaps a tomato or pomegranate, the other a dragon design ceramic with that same tomato/pomegranate, identically framed, each measuring 9 1/4" by 13" (17" by 20" framed). This is a gorgeous original lithograph of ancient Greek ruins by Joseph Pennell, from his series "In the Land of Temples", based on his travels through Greece and Italy. The image size is 16 1/2 x 21 3/4 inches, published in 1913 in a very small edition of 50, printed on a watermarked wove type paper, pencil signed...

Haku Maki in 1968 did a group of prints depicting animals from Asia’s Zodiac, which has an animal for each year in a 12-year cycle. Maki called this series of prints Animal Song. This one is Animal Song 申, the character for the Year of the Monkey. The print is square, measuring 17 1/8 in W x 17 1/8in H, and is in excellent condition.

"William Hogarth" Sancho at the Feast, Starved by his Physician The Works of William Hogarth" as published by Baldwin, Cradock and Joy in 1822 with the original plates restored by James Heath, engraver to His Majesty. The Heath edition was the last to print directly from Hogarth's original engraved plates. All William Hogarth prints appearing after this date are copies of these original graphic works of art. Berthe Morisot 1841-1895 French This is an original etching by French artist Berthe Morisot. The title is: Femme Nu de Dos, this etching was created in 1889. This is a later printing after the plate had the cancellation holes at the upper and lower ends of the plate. These holes were later filled in the 20th century and the etching was re-editioned, This state is less common. The image measures 5 7/16X415/16 inches. Unsigned as issued...
