A very interesting etching of what appears to be Paris' Montmartre section, (the windmill a famous feature, painted by many artists), signed in pencil in the lower right margin "B. Vilard". Surprisingly I do not see a listing for an artist by this name---could possibly be a pen name.. The work measures 8 1/2" by 11" inside the mat and 13 3/4" by 16 1/4" framed. It is very clean and fresh, despite likely dating to the first half of the 20th century. Note the subtle blue/brown colors.

Percival Gaskell, Etching, "In the Garden," This very fine impression with its deep rich tones measures 11 3/4 x 7 3/4 inches, c. 1930. Presented on cream wove paper, this original drypoint has wide margins with a sheet size of 15 1/2 x 10 1/4 inches and is pencil signed on the lower border. Born in England and educated in Cambridge, Gaskell studied art in London and Italy before studying under Sir Frank Short at the Royal College of Art.

Dendy Sadler Etching Battle of Trafalgar Veterans or Nelson’s Crew is a work done for the centennial of the October 1805 battle of Trafalgar. A late 19th century etching of a young woman, measuring 5 3/4" by 4" inside the mat, the laid paper sheet 10" by 7 1/4", and 19 1/4" by 15 1/2" nicely framed, with a monogram in the plate at right center and an illegible pencil signature at lower right that appears to begin with "J". As the work somewhat resembles some portrait etchings by the famous artist Whistler, and the monogram almost appears as an early Whistlerian "butterfly" before it evolved, I thought the work possibly by Whistler...

Japanese limited edition copperplate etching titled “Kyoto #7: Kozan-ji” by Tanaka Ryohei (1933-2019). Pencil-signed, dated '96, and numbered 141/150 in the lower margin. The title in kanji is at the bottom left margin. Paper: 11 5/8" x 10 1/4" (image: 6 3/8" x 8"). Very good overall condition with a possible faintly visible smudge in the upper left margin corner. There are a few distressed fibers on the back, but the print does not appear to have been previously framed.
