George O. Pop Hart, American, 1868-1933, "the Mule Car," Lithograph, image size 9 1/2 x 13 inches, 1928, pencil signed l.r. "Pop Hart".

Acquired from the recent liquidation of the extensive estate of actor Charlton Heston and his wife Lydia, this is an original photograph, unsigned/unattributed, measuring 13 1/2" by 17 3/4", unframed, in a clean white mat. There are a number of contemporary notations in pencil on the mat, including "STILL LIFE MID 1920", and a $300 asking price. The photo seems to be perhaps earlier, so "circa 1900" might be reasonable...

Sir Frank Brangwyn, 1867-1956, British, etching, plate measures 19 x 20 3/4 inches in a 26 3/4 x 28 inch frame. The plate was etched on the spot. C 1906. Catalog: FASL 65. A somber and well inked print with a rich drypoint burr. A rare print!

Hand Colored Etching “Dickens Christmas Carol” 5x8” framed size 12x16” done circa 1940

Color print, 18" by 25" in metal framing, featuring a whimsical and humorous image of a dog in full circus animal mode, wearing a pink tutu and riding a unicycle, generally doing his utmost to attract attention with all the bells and whistles he can find, while a nearby cat lies quietly, confidently in full control of things. Title is "The difference between cats and dogs is that cats aren't afraid of losing their job"...

A wonder lithograph work signed by the artist measuring 30x24 inches. who was born in 1921. He moved to France early in his life. He is one of the most sought after Vietnamese artist today.

Large extremely rare oversize woodcut by Wendell H. Black (American, 1919-1972). This is a rare proof printed and signed by the artist himself. It is illustrated in "The Lost Prints of Wendell H. Black" by Henry Sayre, Figure 9. Laid down, presumably by the artist, to safeguard its integrity. This work measures 46" by 22". It is titled in pencil by the artist's hand lower left, and is signed and dated lower right...

This is an original pencil signed etching by British artist Sir Frank Short.  The title is: A Lane in Arundel, it was created and printed in 1907.  The image measures 8 1/8X10 inches.  A rich impression.

A dramatic black and white photograph of a forlorn old house, captured on a gray wet day in the dying steel town of Youngstown, Ohio, dated 1985, numbered at left 42/200 and pencil signed at lower right margin by noted American photographer and broadcast personality GARY FRANKLIN (1928-2007). The work measures 17" by 13 3/8" inside the innermost mat and 24" by 20 1/4" as framed. The dreary scene was captured by a talented photographer...

Johan Barthold Jongkind, Dutch, 1819-1891, "Sortie de la Maison Cochin (Faubourg Saint-Jacques)". This 1878 etching by the Dutch artist, Johan Barthold Jongkind, measures 5 3/4 x 9 1/8 inches, plate signed and dated. Early proof before letters, D-20, II/IV. Framed.

**SET OF 4** The French fashion and costume magazine "La Mode Illustree" operated from about 1859 through at least the 1920's, featuring the styles of the day. This is a set of four fine engravings, circa 1875 or 1880, judging from the fashion depicted. All are hand colored. Size as framed 15 1/2" by 12 3/4" (one without glass, which had shattered). The framing stained oak. The prints are very clean inside the mats...

Rare hand-colored version...

A Dutch 17th century etching of a standing horse near a humble abode, 6 3/4" by 7 3/4" (14" by 15 1/2" in 20th century appropriate black frame), unsigned, and with no initials or other indication as to authorship. The work bears old pencil notations on the reverse side of the mat; there appear to be names of potential artists that were pondered by a previous observer in my position (including, it appears, question marks to himself)...

A fine 20th C. print variously titled Red Fuji; Fine Wind; Clear Weather, and Gaifû kaisei, originally create by Japanese wood block artist Katsushika Hokusai, c. 1830 as part of the monumental 36 Views of Mount Fuji. Although this print has not been examined outside of its frame, it appears to be in superb condition with bright vivid color...

Vintage and early Hawaiian art is scarce to rare, and desirable. This is a 1932 etching, "Hawaii Hall", one of the principal buildings of the University of Hawaii at Manoa campus, on Oahu. It is pencil signed at lower right margin. An image of this print is included in the university's yearbook for 1932. The work is presently unframed, behind a mat, and it is simply taped at top edge...

5.75 x 8.5 in. ai in Japanese The white background is punctuated by a yellow sun and a red splash --true Maki style. Frame 5 shows Sanae’s careful translation and explanation of this print – and her intuition as to what Maki-san may have meant when he created this image 41 years ago.
