There is hand coloring of the blue sea, blue of the flag, and a little yellow and pink hue in the explosion on the foreground ship...

I call this set of images The Zodiac but Maki formally called them Animal Song + the animal name in kanji. The prints here are Animal Song. Red Lantern Gallery in Kyoto distributed them in 1968. In 1968 Haku Maki was commissioned by Red Lantern Gallery to produce the 12 animals of the Zodiac in a series entitled Animal Song. My Research Note 3 described the set briefly. This is an enhanced version. Maki did only 50 copies of each print; that was a normal run for him in that period...

A quality woodblock print on rice paper featuring young Asian males frolicking on a street, pencil signed in the lower margin below the present mat by the noted political activist-artist of South Korea, Hong Sung-Dam (born 1955). I offer this work on paper, 19" by 25" inside the mat, 26 1/2" by 33" framed in simple black frame (to be shipped without glass), as a print of some kind by the important Swiss modern artist HANS ERNI (1909-2015). Signed in the plate at lower right and dated there "60", this would appear to be a monotype, or possibly a lithograph, with hand coloring added. Several examples are to be seen in the auction record, and they are I believe mistakenly described as gouache, original, unique works...

An example of the 1960's poster by the prestigious Galerie Berggruen in Paris, printed on the occasion of the exhibition of works by Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky. The work pictured is Klee's 1930 watercolor "Spectre d'un Guerrier". The poster, printed by Jacomet, Paris, measures 27 1/2" by 19 1/2", and is in a silvery metal frame at present.
