A winter scene print by noted watercolorist and illustrator, Howard Watson. Watson was the "Artist in Residence" at the White House during the Carter Administration.There are tiny thumbtack punctures at the very end corners of the print(not impacting the print and not visible). Professionally framed, the print measures approximately 23" x 20" (probably larger but not measured out of frame). The frame itself is 28-1/2" x 25".

In 1968 Haku Maki completed his Animal Song series. It was 12 different prints, one for each year of the Chinese/Japanese zodiac. Each print had the title Animal Song and the kanji for the animal, which was not translated. This print, Animal Song [dragon], 14/50, is a beautiful Maki red. The dragon of the image is a very traditional Chinese character for dragon. In this print Maki used the theme dragon for the first time. This dashing abstract kanji seems to almost swirl out of the paper...

Each print is signed at lower right in pencil by well known New Orleans artist EUGENE F. LOVING (1908-1971). Both prints are titled at lower left, one "Pirates Alley/Old New Orleans", the other "Maison Seignouret Court/Old New Orleans; and each bears the artist's notation "Ed/200"...

Black and white original photo of ballerinas, variously titled "Ballerinas in a Dressing Room", or "Ballerinas Backstage, American Ballet Theater in New York", 1937, by the noted American photographer ALFRED EISENSTAEDT (1898-1995). The photo was likely printed much later (many of Eisenstaedt's images were re-printed years after they were originally created). One of a number of William Russell Flint prints in my shop, this is a fresh and clean example of the fine Flint photolithographs issued for collectors over a period of decades. This example, published in 1957 in an edition of 700, is signed in pencil at lower right and bears the characteristic embossed blindstamp in lower left margin. The title is "Rosa and Marissa". The subject is a Portrait of Benjamin Evans, Benjamin Evans is thought to have been etched during Augustus John’s stay in Liverpool, where he taught at the University from 1901-1902. This image is pencil signed by the artist and has a platemark measuring 5X4 inches. Very richly printed some very light but even toning to the sheet...

A late 19th century etching of a young woman, measuring 5 3/4" by 4" inside the mat, the laid paper sheet 10" by 7 1/4", and 19 1/4" by 15 1/2" nicely framed, with a monogram in the plate at right center and an illegible pencil signature at lower right that appears to begin with "J". As the work somewhat resembles some portrait etchings by the famous artist Whistler, and the monogram almost appears as an early Whistlerian "butterfly" before it evolved, I thought the work possibly by Whistler...

A lithograph print of a typical northern New Mexican adobe house of the Santa Fe and Taos region, signed in the plate at lower center with what appears as "J Hill" and dated nearby 48. The black and white image measures 6 1/4" by 9 1/4" inside the mat, 15" by 17 1/2" in simple black wood strip frame. Not examined out of frame but appears very clean and fresh. I have not been able to locate a listed artist by this name that would correspond to this work.

A fine aquatint print circa 1930's, the subject one of the famous canals of old Bruges, Belgium, pencil signed at lower right margin by French artist FREDERIC LOUIS LEVE (1877-1968), and numbered in pencil 86 at lower left margin, where there is a blind stamp in the paper. Japanese limited edition color etching and aquatint titled "Le Tournoi II" (The Tournament II) by Taiwan artist Shaih Li-fa (Xie Lifa) dated 1968. Pencil-signed, titled, and numbered 3/25 in the bottom margin. Xie Lifa (b. 1938) studied drawing and sculpture in Paris in the 1960s before relocating to the U.S. in 1968 to focus on printmaking.
