Eighteenth Century Engraving “Putti At Work” 5x7” A beautiful and rare work beautifully framed

A circa 1920's to 1940's old reprint of the much-loved classic Currier and Ives lithograph "American Winter Scenes", with a horse-drawn sleigh heading towards the snug home at right in which a party appears to be held. The piece measures 23 1/2" by 30 1/2" in what I believe is a birdseye maple frame. Condition is very good, vintage condition. The original 19th century lithograph is very expensive; this reasonable alternative will provide the same decorative punch.

Original 19th century albumen photograph by Jean-Pascal Sebah (1872-1947) depicting the old Cairo and the island of Rhoda (the photograph is titled in the plate l.l "Vieux Caire et Ile de Rowdah"). Signed in the plate l.r. Jean-Pascal Sebah was the son of Pascal Sebah (1823-1886). He continued the family studio in 1888 in Constantinople. The studio specialized in scenes of Egypt and the Middle East.

Linocut print, the sheet 10 1/4" by 14", unframed, numbered at lower left 70/100 and pencil signed at lower right and dated there 1971, the "HB" blind stamp nearby, by the important and still highly underrated Swiss-California modernist HANS GUSTAV BURKHARDT (1904-1994). The subject is somewhat uncertain; perhaps a look at a catalogue raisonne of the artist's graphic works would provide the title...

Original offset lithograph poster for the Tate Gallery, London, 1980 exhibition "Travels with Pen, Pencil and Ink, Drawings and Prints 1961-1979". The exhibition took place from July 2 through August 3, 1980, when Hockney would have been in only his early forties. This poster is very clean and fresh, and attractively framed in brushed silvery metal. There is a little even vertical rumpling of the paper----just enough to prove its earned vintage status at roughly forty years of age...

A monograph on him was recently published by Ron Newsom of Florida, a friend and neighbor of the artist in his later years...

Lithograph on paper, the sheet 19 1/4" by 25 3/4", signed in pencil at lower right and numbered 156/275 at lower left, by important 20th century Spanish artist EMILIO GRAU-SALA (1911-1975). This is an example of the accomplished lithography of this major European artist, the paintings of whom command well into five figures at auctions in Europe and the USA...

This print Z-446B was one of a small number of creations that he put on hard, gold-edged board. Daniel Tretiak wrote that these prints “were printed first on very thin paper, which was then ‘wrapped’ around heavy shikishi board. They are lithographs not done from wood blocks. Done in 1999, this work measures 7.25in x 8.25in, is in excellent condition, and one of an edition of 77.

Large colored etching, posthumous printing, after the circa 1914 original print of the famous Austrian landmark on the Danube west of Vienna, the 18th century-built Melk Abbey (sometimes called Melk Monastery), signed in pencil at lower center by the son of the artist, Robert (the actual signature is preceded by "nl" which indicates Nachlass, or Studio, of the artist). Sometimes I find it difficult to determine if the colors have been applied to a single plate or if the print has been made with a separate plate for each color. This print feels as if it was printed with more than one plate because of the mixing of colors in some places and the clean separation in others...

A wood engraving, late 19th century, titled at bottom center "The Yosemite Valley, California", the image a breathtaking panorama of the waterfalls and sheer cliffs of the world-renowned natural wonder, set off by foreground trees and rocky ledges. Although the vintage print is perhaps not an actual Harper's Weekly work, it is in that vein and style...

An unusual offering: a print of some type, appearing as lithograph but not, perhaps a Heliogravure or similar, with HAND COLORING IN PASTEL, the oval-shaped card on which this is created measuring 20" by 16", the entire wood apparently original early oval frame measuring 26 1/2" by 23 1/2".
