The signature is spurious, the work not by the famous Mexican artist sculptor Juan Soriano (so determined by correspondence from the representative/expert of his estate), but the anonymous work stands on its own merits, and it is likely to be of Mexican or South American origin...

INDIAN BRONZE FIGURE OF A JINA, 19TH CENTURY well cast as a standing woman wearing a single necklace and a loincloth, with inlaid eyes, all atop a small square base

Unusual and Finely Modeled Continental Patinated-Bronze and Brass Novelty Lamp, with a bear climbing a branch on an urn depicting the torture of Bealesbub, on a font supporting a pair of winged griffins each with a wick extending from its mouth, on a tazza base adorned with arabesques and satyr masks, h. 11-5/8", dia. 6-3/4". Condition Report: Great condition.

The superbly modeled alligator head jaw moves on its hinged mouth when its lever is pushed. The head is emerging from from marshy grasses waiting to catch its prey. The alligator is mounted on ebonized oval support which is held by a gilt bronze rococo plinth.

Overall condition is very good to near excellent though the gilt patination shows minor losses or fading. The base is late 18th / early 19th C. though the alligator dates later in the century...

Stunning antique European bronze sculpture dates back to the late 19th century. It depicts a young boy standing confidently with both hands casually tucked into his pockets while wearing a charming cap. This statue's level of detail is exceptional, as it has been cast and entirely hand-chiseled with fine details.

On the back of the base is an illegible artist's signature with the date 89 (1889) and a stamp of the foundry's mark under the base.

A very good bronze figure of a hound by Piere-Jules Mene (1810-1877). The hound stands alert look over his shoulder at the viewer. The rectangular base is well-textured with rocks and branches, typical of Mene's style. The shape of the base suggests that the casting is from Mene's own foundry and dates to the 1840s. The dogs is nicely detailed. The figure is finished in a dark black/brown patina. The front left corner of the base is signed P. J. Mene. There is no foundry mark.
