These impressive heavily potted large vases are of a baluster form with everted rims, and are finely painted in a rich and vivid polychrome enamel with panels with figural scenes depicting Ming Dynasty court life, along with a floral motif with birds. The motif around the shoulder is of the “Eight Precious Symbols”, and above is a row of tobacco leaves. The pair of gilt elephant heads on either side with a coral detail in the middle of their foreheads. Condition: excellent...
