Some insignificant light marks and light foxing are present on the painting itself, otherwise the painting is in very good condition. The scroll mounting is in very good condition with the age. It is accompanied by a paulownia wood storage box.

This is a heavy-for-its size (about six pounds) sculpture in a heavy, dark wood like mahogany (ironwood?), measuring about 10" high by about 5" on a side. In addition to the dark heavy wood, there are carved teeth of bone, and carefully applied white paint detail in the eyes. Carved into the base are the words "Ngambela Mataa". I have googled the term and it seems to be applied to a figure who was in Zambia in the late 19th century to as late as 1928, when there was some murder there...

Tibetan Himalayan Buddhist Copper and Brass Prayer Wheel, with Bamboo handle supported by round Shell Disc, 17" high, 3 1/4" wide, Paper Scrip is inside the drum, copper cap wrapped around the tip of Bamboo handle at the end of the handle, the condition is good. This piece was in the private collection since 1990, purchased in Lhasa during their trip.

Shirakura Kanyu(1896-1974) was a Nanga painter(the Southern school of Chinese painting), born in Niigata Prefecture in Japan. He studied under Hattori Goro(1869-1930), and after moving to Tokyo he studied Western painting under Hakutei Ishii(1882-1958).Afterwards, he returned to Nanga, and after moving to Kyoto, studied under Tajika Chikuson(1864-1922)...

A vintage tropical wood scoop, 11" by 3" approximately, circa 1970's, bearing the old label of the well-known purveyor of Hawaiian theme goods, Kealakekua's Grass Shack of Kailua-Kona on the Big Island. On base of handle is carved by hand "MANGO IND PARK". The piece is hand-crafted and the wood shows a beautiful grain in the bowl area. Label has a little wear. Could hold nuts or candies on a table, so, utilitarian as well as decorative--stands upright on its own; well-balanced.

This crown is finely beaded with a bold black face and on the reverse side with vertical lines possibly depicting tribal scars and prominent lips on a white beaded ground, a large bird perched on the top, and birds along the sides, is over cotton cloth backing. Yoruba crowns were usually worn by the king Oba, on state occasions and during public ceremonies...

Chinese carved Rosewood Display Stand, dark brown dense heavy wood and nicely polished and aged with time, ca. 1940's, 5 1/8" diameter inside the top rim, 1 7/8" high, 6 1/4" wide-maximum width, some old scratches and stains in the wood, small piece glued 1" wide scroll area on the bottom.
