Here is a rare and wonderful photo collage of scenes from the building of the Alaskan Highway (completed in 1943.) Original snapshots. The center photo highlights what appears to be the official ribbon cutting; sixteen photos surround it. Below is a cartoon of a bear taking a picture of a man. Not examined out of the frame. 13" x 15".

This vintage stanhope piece is a very rare find. It shows 6 historical landmarks of Northern Ireland, through the tiny peeper glass in the middle of its well-known, wild boar. The pictures and views, within the charm / pendant display 'A Memory of BALLYCASTLE:' GOLF LINKS, MURLOUGH BAY, ROPE BRIDGE CARRICK-a-REDE, MARINE ROAD and FAIR HEAD. The views great and clear. This stanhope measures 5/8" x 1/2" x 3/8" tall. It is in excellent condition.

Unsigned hand-tinted photograph of a stream/pond scene. Image size is 5 7/8 by 3 3/4 inches, mat size is 9 5/8 by 7 5/8 inches. Framed size is 10 1/2 by 8 1/2 inches. Condition is good with a water stain on left side of mat near frame, small white spot on mat in upper right of image. Pre-1940, original frame and backing, very minor damage to lower right frame corner. Horizontal coloration difference is due to lighting when taking photo of framed work, not a flaw.

A sepia toned silver print of a Bedouin shepherd with his flock grazing on sparsely covered ground below a hill. In the lower right corner is the blind stamp, “American Colony/Jerusalem.” The original dates from around 1920 and this would appear to be a print of roughly that age. The Number 161 is stamped on the back. The photograph is 8 ¼ x 11 ¼ inches includes a thin margin.

A framed PAIR of hand-colored vintage early 20th century photographs of the scenic Pikes Peak area of Colorado, one titled in pencil in margin "Rainbow Falls Manitou, Colo." and the other "A Glimpse of Pikes Peak--Colo.", both pencil signed "Photo-Craft" at lower right margin. Measurements are 9 1/2" by 4 3/4" (photos) and 17 1/2" by 13 1/2" in identical gold frames with green double mat. There is a bit of brownish discoloration in the margin of the waterfall image, as shown...

This is a scarce and desirable item---a vintage 1920's photograph of an unidentified young attractive pouty-lipped woman wearing her pearls or beads, the entire mat and photo together measuring 18" by 13" and a narrow period frame, signed in the mat "Man Ray Paris". The artist hardly needs introduction; he was a major Dadaist and surrealist painter and sculptor, the works of whom appear in major museums and galleries the world over...

A vintage gelatin silver print of Oulah-Nails street in Biskra Algeria located on the back and the photographer Alexandre Bougault (1851-1917) identified with his blind stamp in the lower right corner. 10 7/8 x 8 5/8 inches (27.5 x 22 cm).

A motorcycle & sidecar tintype circa 1905 with a historic view. This scarce, very early photograph is on a late tintype (photo on treated metal blank) and this 2-3/8 x 1-5/8" (view area) image consists of a young motorcycle rider astride the bike with a rather concerned-looking grandma in the sidecar. Three other ladies stand behind her, and there is an Edmonson's Red Seal Toffee pail in the middle of the road (road hazards were a little different in those days...)...

A 7 x 3-1/2" curved card stereoview or stereo card depicting an Alaska Goldrush scene. Issued by B.L. Singley in 1900, this is number 9256 - "A HALT BY THE WAYSIDE, EN ROUTE TO KLONDIKE". It has an orange face and pink backing, with a quote by John P. Clum, USPO Inspector and Lecturer. The image shows a reclining prospector under his draped tent with his buddy cookin' up some vittles. An albumen photograph of campers on the shore of Loch Hourn with their boat anchored off-shore and misty hills on the far side of the Loch. Loch Hourn is a sea loch. The campsite looks a little messy, though the tent looks good and the four men well dressed and fed. 7 ¼ x 11 3/8 inches (18.5 x 29 cm), with a 14 x 17 inch (35.7 x 43.3 cm) mat. Attached to backboard with T mount at the top and clear photo corners at the bottom.

The business was continued by his son Carlo Brogi (1850-1925) who according to Wikimedia is responsible for photographs in the series with numbers above 8000. As this one is 9005a, it is probably Carlo’s rather than his father’s. Titled in the lower margin, “9005a. COMO – Panorame della Citta col Colfo” and in the far right, “...
