Superb and extremely rare silverplated cocktail shaker in the "Ile de France" pattern by Meriden Britannia Plate Co. This is one of the most desirable of the high style Art Deco shakers. The ocean liner "Ile de France" was launched in 1926--not as the largest ship afloat, but intentionally as the most elegant ship in the world. This shaker was intended to celebrate that achievement and took its streamlined design elements from the ship itself...

Antique Persian Baluch rug, 100% hand woven wool in rust brown, light red, and indigo hues, with repeating geometric motifs throughout. These rugs are hand-knotted by the nomads of Baluch. Baluch or Baluchistan is the area between the borders of Iran, Pakistan, and Afghanistan-- this is why Baluch rugs are said to be a mixture of three different regions.

A Chinese antique pear shaped snuff bottle done in glass overlay with four colours on an opaque white ground. The bottle of compressed ovoid form raising from an oval foot to a tall cylindrical neck. One carved side shows a bird perched on a tall branch holding fruit. On this side the maker has also affixed his mark, from Yangzhou School. On the reverse it shows a bird with overhead butterflies and insects hovering over lily pods in the water...

These beautiful plates were designed by Reuben Haley and produced by the Consolidated Glass Company in the late 1920's. The pattern is called 'Bird Of Paradise' and is one of Consolidated's Martele patterns . Approximately 8 1/2 inches in diameter, the color is a sepia brown ceramic wash over crystal. Dancing Nymph is the correct name for this Consolidated pattern - it's sometimes called "Dance of the Nudes" due to listings in depression glass books under that name. Originally produced in 1928, it's a wonderful pattern for the deco collector as well as glass lovers. This is the 5 1/2 inch footed tumbler in the pink satin finish. this color is very hard to find because it was only made in 1938-9. Excellent condition, I have 4 available. Price is per tumbler...

American Modern sterling silver flask, ca 1920. Rectilinear and curved; cover hinged, threaded, and cork-lined. Front engraved with a camel, a paragon of drought survival, standing on parched ground with scattered shoots of greenery. In background are palm trees and pyramids.
