In Bhutan, the Land of the Thunder Dragon (Dzongkha), the time spent in embroidering textiles is considerable and can involve as much as a year for certain ceremonial textiles such as this one with a black background, called a "napsham". This really nice large frosted Bell with Clapper and Wooden Handle was made by Westmoreland Glass. This Bell measures 8 1/2 inches high to the top of the handle X 4 3/8 inches in diameter at the bottom of the bell. This Bell has a bird decal on it. Pair of Neoclassical-style decanters, ca. 1980. Globular body in white campher glass. Scroll handle with foliate cap is silver plate as is mouth collar and hinged over, which are in form of ram’s head. Fun and fanciful. Very good condition.

Japanese glass ojime in a form of tombodama bead of dark blue glass with flower shaped swirls of tan and white. Tombodama can be translated as “dragonfly ball” and the name is thought to come about because when the molten glass is applied to the core bead it resembles a dragonfly’s eye. Very well made, in perfect condition. Height 9/16 inches.

American artist Guy Diehl, born in 1949 in Pennsylvania, is most famously known for his still life paintings and prints. Diehl's family moved to California in 1960, where he began taking courses in art at Diablo Valley College in 1968. He moved onto study under Mel Ramos, one of the originators of figurative pop art at Cal State University, Hayward.
