This is one of the finest examples of Berndt Friberg's ceramic mastery that I have acquired since dealing from 1984. It has never been in a shop or auction, but has an important provenance and was procured directly from Friberg. It is without any flaws, which is extremely rare for a piece of this size. Magnificent in every way. It measures 15 3/4" and is 3 3/4' in diameter. Museum quality for the advanced collector.

Superb in every way; form, glaze, condition. This is a monumental and important vase by Berndt Friberg for Gustavsberg. It measures 15 1/2" (39.5cm). On the underside is incised Friberg, the Gustavsberg hand insignia, and the date code C. This masterpiece was created in 1961.

These 8 champagne glasses or sherbets were produced in Sweden by Orrefors. We believe they were made in the 1960s. The style is very “Modern.” The opening measures 4 1/2 inches in diameter and they are 4 3/4 inches high. They are all signed with a stylus on the foot. The glass is extremely thin at the rim then increases thickness to accommodate the cut pattern. They are colored with a pale amethyst tint. They are hand cut in a geometric pattern rather like a honey comb...

Beautiful Japanese studio vase, in the form of a Han Dynasty cocoon vase, in the Mingei style, mid 20th century. Very reminiscent of the work of Kawai Kanjiro. Original hand thrown and hand enameled vase by Gilbert Portanier (France, born 1926). This vase measures roughly 7", with a diameter at the base of 5". It is signed with Portanier's distinctive monogram near the base. In excellent condition except for a glaze chip near the mouth of the vase. Portanier is one of the most important ceramic artists in the second half of the twentieth century in France.
