A Spanish Colonial Peruvian sun burst mirror with hand carved and gold gilt finish. A splendora of hand carved rays undulating in size flowing out in all directions. This is a 9 drawer leather chest, that can be used for a number of things, but is perfect as a jewelry chest. It was made by Maitland Smith and is extremely heavy. The drawers are black lacquer on the inside, and brown leather with gold trim on the outside. It is signed on the inside of the top drawer. It measures 42" tall x 10" wide x 11" deep. It is in good condition with some wear to the leather.

The base is copper with a wooden inlay. The inside of the top is marked STERLING S & E for Sweetser Manufacturing Co. The bottom of the copper base is also marked S & E (with the company's hallmark) numbered 19928. It has a monogram I cannot decipher (which, of course, can be removed by any jeweler)...

Pair of decorative leather bound bookends with brass accents. Silver tone metal mounts of a Griffon accent the brass; gold tone stitching accents the rich brown leather. Bears logo of Mark Cross in gold on the bottom of each piece. The bookends measure 6.5 inches (16.5 cm) tall, 5.5 inches (14 cm) deep and 6.25 inches (15.9 cm) wide. Some scuffs and marks from use, but no rips or tears to the leather, nor dents to the metal. Circa 1960.

A French Art Deco arched chrome cocktail pick holder with a dozen picks with colorful bakelite finials. The holder is French, but the picks (probably early replacements) are marked “Made in England.” This simple design is somewhat easier to use than some of the other figural pick holders. Cocktail pick holders (“porte-piques”) was once a fixture of every French bar or café. Today, they can be used to spear cocktail olives or cherries, or to serve small hors d’oeuvres.
