A beautiful Japanese black lacquer over wood with applied mother of pearl charger featuring 2 sparrow-like birds surrounded by cherry blossoms. The branches have gold highlights and the cherry blossom buds have red lacquer accents. One small mop bud is missing, otherwise in very good condition. Measures 17 inches in diameter.

18th c India Hindu temple statue of a deity, this was carved in sandstone and painted countless times as is usual with Hindu temple sculpture . The paint has preserved the delicate carving and there is a iron bolt on the under side of the figure where it was mounted to the structure of the temple. A Chinese porcelain teabowl and saucer painted in famille verte enamels with radiating cartouche panels of foliage. The cup decorated on the inside with sprigs of flowers, as well as the underside of the saucer. Both have seal marks in under-glaze blue to the base. Made for the export market.

Kangxi Period (Circa 1662 to 1722)

There is the possibility of a very small chip on the saucer which had an invisible repair done to it, or else it may be a firing flaw...

19th c Hindu seatite carved stone altar statue of Ganesha , wonderful almost deco styled seated ganesha . The stone is soft and cream colored some losses as seen in pictures. Size 10" by 6"

DESCRIPTION: A Chinese pendant with coral colored stone mounted as a brooch in high relief with a scholar standing under a twisting pine in a mountain setting. The rectangular gilt frame is cast as four bamboo stalks and has a sturdy open “mesh” backing fitted with a stick pin and gold loop so that it can be worn as a brooch or necklace. Very fine work overall with no tarnish anywhere to the gilt frame. DIMENSIONS: 2 3/8” long (6 cm) x 1 7/8” wide (4.8 cm).

Japanese Mid 20th Century print of "White Heron in the Rain" by IDE GAKUSUI (1899-1982). Signed and stamped by artist in lower right hand corner. Also, title and date in lower right hand border. Printed in Showa 25, or 1950. The feathers of the heron are embossed. Fine color and impression. This is the first printing of this famous print. A posthumous edition was printed in HEISEI period. The paper measures 10 1/4" wide by 15 3/8" tall. The print measures 9" wide by 14 3/8" tall.
