Although the carving is rought one can distinguish the minimal face either of a local deityor or also possible of the Sun. Mask carved in a very hard wood, the design is minimal. However the lines formed by the nose and the continuity with those located above the eyes evoke the shape of a spider. Note a slot on the right of the mask, however well secured by a metal clip. Far north west of Nepal, Humla region, H 34 cm, W 19 cm, age circa mid 20th.

This old patchwork quilt from Pakistan is known as a "rilhi" (from the Urdu word "ralanna", to mix or join). The embroidery is dense, mainly in buttonhole, satin and ladder stitch with some couching, and embellished with sequins, pompoms, mirrors and metallic thread. These quilts play a popular role in the outdoor festivals all over Sindh province that take place to commemorate the Sufi poets and saints ("urs")...

Patchwork quilts ("rilhi") are among the finest folk art coverlets in Pakistan. Sindhis have traditionally used them as ground covers at outdoor Sufi religious festivals. This rilhi is from Thatta and measures 75 1/2 inches by 95 inches. It is dated to the mid 20th century. Condition is excellent (no holes, stains, nor repairs).

This embroidered shirt panel is typical of the traditional embroidery of Kandahar ("khamak") in its limited range of colors and its depiction of geometric motifs of traditional Islamic art. Silk thread in extremely delicate satin stitch in counted-thread technique on a fine silk background which has been stitched to a cotton linen. It measures 38 x 43.5 cm and is dated to the early 20th century. Condition excellent, only two inconspicuous stains on one side.

Old tribal mask from the North West of Nepal, Humla district, we can see several old shreds of hairy skin (possibly from goat?) fixed on the forehead and the chin as well as important vestiges of hair fixed with glue around the mouth. The teeth have been sculpted in a very realistic, important black soot patina. H 25 cm, important age from the beginning to the middle of the 20th century
