Very beautiful dark wood phurbu richly carved, the top shows 3 beautiful faces of protective ancestors of exceptional sculptural quality, each face measures 5 to 6 cm high. The top shows a miniature animal head (1.5 cm high), probably that of the mythical horse Hayagriva. The central part is a beautiful dorgi very finely carved. The triangular point shows a trunk wrapped in the mouth of Makara, each hand of which holds the head of a snake which rise from the point of the Phurbu; H 28.5 cm

A stunning pair of Himachal Pradesh bracelets with double Makara heads. Made of high grade silver (acid tested) with details in green and blue enamel. Finely engraved details. Inner size: 5,5 x 4 cm. Bi faced "ghurra" (churning rod holder) finely carved to represent a back to back, squatting, human couple, man opposite woman. Wood, with nice dark brown glossy patina. The ghurra was carved in Nepal, and is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. Its height (without the stand) is 22.7 cm. Very good condition. NOTE: The ghurra is a tool which has been used for centuries by Nepali people for churning milk into butter...

Mushroom masks use the natural form of tree parasitic fungi with minimal modification. Only the openings of the mouth and eyes as well as the nose are the work of the sculptor. They are rarely worn by dancers but more generally hanged inside the house where they will acquire a beautiful black patina of soot. Often the softer part of the interior formed by the spores of the mushroom falls and thus reveals a different color without patina. This one shows a double mouth which can be interpreted...

Tibetan snuff bottle of flat shape made of silver with a lavish embossed decor representing Tibetan Tantric Budhism deities, fistly Acala, one of the eight Dharmapalas holding a sword in his right hand on one side, and secondly one of the Dakinis on the other side. Whilst Bokhara rugs are often perceived as utilitarian in nature and not seen as art objects by their makers, this particular rug is of such good quality that the maker decided to sign it...
