Very fine Japanese lacquer cocktail shaker and matching glasses handpainted with a scene of a teahouse at the edge of a lake amidst a bamboo grove with mountains in the background. The interiors are decorated in a stunning and unusual metallic copper finish.

Japanese hair comb and Kogai hair pin in a Wakasa-nuri Lacquer finish on wood, circa early 1900s. Wakasa-nuri lacquer is a unique urushi lacquer technique that uses stones (coarse to soft) to scrape and reveal different layers of lacquer coatings which are painted on wood using many different colors. The dimensions of the comb are 1 1/4 inches and 3 1/4 inches, pin 5 3/4 inches long.

Quality, Japanese lacquered wood kimono hanger. The hanger comes in the box with the old tissue paper inside. The writings on the box and the tissues (old with lots of storage stains - appeared new in the photos) indicate that it was "Made by Wajima", pre WWII. Wajima lacquer has been know for the best for it's superior quality. Very light (kiri wood inside?). Taisho to early Showa, 1920 to 1940. Japanese Tsugaru / Wakasa lacquer box and six coasters, early 20th century lacquer work with a speckled and metallic surface, an old Honshu speciality. The pattern is rhombic, the lid of the box gold or bronze coloured, the coasters a reddish brown. The back of the coasters is black and slightly structured. 1930's Japanese Wood Lacquer Totai Bark Tree Cloisonne Koro with Phoenix

It is 6.8 inches (17.2 cm) tall by 6.5 inches (16.5 cm) wide. It is 380 gram (0.8 Lb).

It has hairline cracks at the 4 corners and one handle, chips, peeling of lacquer and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

Japanese wood and lacquer cloisonne document box. The ground features a carved lacquered tree bark design. Applied cloisonne flowers with a butterfly were achieved by using gold tone metal wires which were filled with colored lacquer and then hand polished.
