Pair of Chinese antique erotic mirrored imaged plates done in famille rose showing a man and a woman involved in creative pleasures. The plates are gilt rim and the underside of each plate are glazed in pink. On the base of each, there is a 6 character Tongzhi (1862-1874) mark in iron red. These plates come boxed.

Size: 7-1/2" Diameter by 1-15" high

Very old mask presumably from the district of Humla, the mouth The ears are barely evoked, there is a small crest possibly fractured, on the top of the mask. Traces of red and white pigments on the top and around the mouth.Black patina ofsoot with hairs fixed around the noos and the eyes/ Semi-hardwood with long fibers, in very good condition considering the age of the mask, at least early 20th. H 27 cm, W 17 cm

A young woman dressed in a white robe with red hakama pants is holding a folding fan and is posed to do a dance. This dress is often known as Shirabyoshi where these were sacred dances offered to the gods. The shirabyoshi figure evokes the Heian and Kamakura aesthetic and the legends contemporary to the era that portray the Shirabyoshi. Work is signed and sealed by an artist named Nanko. A rare antique Chinese apple green Peking Glass snuff bottle with stopper. The bottle has rounded shoulders and a thin carved oval shaped foot. The jade lid with a coiled dragon and bone spoon. Chinese glass was largely used to imitate more precious materials such as white jade, Lapis Lazuli and other valuable minerals.
