A vintage mid century modernist set of 2 salt dishes and 2 spoons by William Spratling in sterling silver and rosewood. These were in the Montgomery Ward 1943 Christmas Book and each sold for $4.75 including the spoon. From Spratling's 1st design period.
The salts measures 1 3/8" square and 1" high. Marked with Spratling Made in Mexico around the conjoined 'WS', and Sterling. These were the marks used between 1931-46...

Modern sterling silver serving tray. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. Round with stepped rim. Smart and functional with nice heft. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, pattern no. 21252, director’s letter m (1907-47), and wartime star (1943-5). Very good condition.

Measuring 5 1/4" across & weighing 156 grams this 940 sterling silver dish was designed by Taxco, Mexico designer Hector Aguilar. The dish is centered with a 1951 coin with a HIDALGO profile. The reverse side of the coin features an eagle fighting a serpent. This candy dish is pictured on p. 67 of SILVER MASTERS OF MEXICO by Penny Morrill. HA, 940, TAXCO, & TALLER BORDA and eagle 9 hallmarks are found on the underside rim of the dish.

palette in green, brown, and blue with natural clay white in a transparent crackle glaze.
The large pair of fu dogs stand opposite each other, eyes faced forward, their mouths slightly open in a snarling grin. The front right foot of the male fu dog rests upon a rounded "xi qui" floral ball, representing rule and supremacy over the world...

Offered are two fabulous Arlington Chemical Company Diagnostic Allergen Test Kits which were used to test skin sensitivity or allergy to a wide variety of potential allergans. The two boxed sets date to the 1940s - 1950s era and are in very nice condition. Both boxes are covered in a grained, leather-like material. The larger box shows wear as seen in the photograph.
