Being offered is a rare and special circa 1940 sterling silver bowl by William Spratling, of Taxco, Mexico. Handwrought bowl with allover spot hammering; fluted rim. Perfect for olives, nuts, guacomole etc. Dimensions: 4 1/2 inches diameter by 2 1/2 inches tall. Marked as illustrated in photo. In excellent condition. Weight 10 oz.

Russian hand painted hinged top Lacquer Box, signed and dated by "Artist name, "1973" on the lower right side, 2" high, 6 1/4" x 4 3/8" wide. Small chips about 1/8" to 1/4" wide on the lacquer surface, some wear and tear, small scratches on the bottom outside.

This Japanese doll looks like a woman from Ukiyo-e (pictures of the "floating world") wood block prints. She is sensual and inviting; posing to fix her hair with a hair pin. To do so, she would need to tilt her head sideways and gently pull out the hair pin so she wll not make a mess of the hairdo. The process takes delicate movement of the fingers and is also a chance to show off the area behind her neck which is considered to be the most sensual place to show for a women wearing a kimono...

A pair of Royal Doulton A. Turner stoneware 7-5/8" vases from the 1902-22 era in unusual colours. These attractive baluster shaped vases feature yellow mouths, olive green necks and feet and a textured body with turquoise, yellow, white and lush gold highlights. They have an X6214 pattern number and the artist's cypher or mark for A. Turner who worked for the company from 1902-22...

A set of five yunomi by Suzuki Osamu enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Kao no Aru Yunomi. Each cup has a small face on one side, pale glaze covering all but that smiling fellow and the foote. Each cup is 3 inches (8 cm) tall and in fine condition...

A pair of Chinese opaque yellow glass bottle vases. Each with tall carved necks and rounded rims, the necks decorated with the tails of dragons that eminate from the rounded bodies . The two five claw dragons chasing a flaming pearl through the heavens. The base plain.

Japanese 4-panel screen painting depicting a scene of ducks swimming along the edge of a pond or stream. Tall grasses and rocks rise from the water. Painted in mineral colors on gold ground.

The Matsumoto catalog identifies the birds as kashidori, "a noisy, quarrelsome species of jay."

Exquisite glazing featuring a gradation that seems a product of both firing conditions and careful nurture by the artist. This piece displays a wonderful balance and nice sense of three-dimensionality.

In fine condition, this tea bowl measures 4.7 inches in diameter (11.8cm) and stands 3.3 inches tall (8.2cm). The bowl comes with its own wood box with poetic name "朝日" (Asahi) inscribed on the inside cover.

Kokeshi, wooden folk toy of NE Japan. Height: 3.75". This is an example of the "Naruko-kei" tradition of Miyagi Prefecture. This particular shape was called an "ezuko" (basket child) in the local Miyagi vernacular. The artisan was Sakurai Shouji, who was born on January 1st, 1927 (Showa 2.) It is not dated, but was most likely made during the 1960's or 1970's.
