This handsome cabinet is constructed of a hardwood (perhaps walnut) and sports an eye-appealing, front-facing, bakelite, control panel. The cabinet is rather heavy and measures 15"W x 14" H x 12.5" with a canted front panel and two wooden handles for transport.
The bottom drawer stores all of the wires and connections noted in the photo. The condition of the cabinet is very good with wear commensurate with age...
A hand-embroidered Hazara prayer cloth, made to protect the prayer stone, with a stylized depiction of the prayer niche, probably from Ghazni or Bamiyan province, circa mid 20th century. This exquisite embroidery on a white linen background depicts the severed hands of Hazrat Abbas, alluding to the battle of Kerbala. Being offered is an exceedingly rare hand-wrought circa 1955 sterling silver bowl by Los Castillo of Taxco, Mexico. Silver fluted shaped bowl comprising of copper inlaid fish at the center; three applied amethyst frogs mounted to the rim, all on 3 bun feet. Dimensions: 10 1/4 inches diameter by 2 inches tall. No monogram. Marked as illustrated on the photo. In excellent condition. Great heavy weight 28 ozs.
Brilliant folk art piece. A clay 'Fushimi Ningyo' sumo doll from the 1930s. Fushimi Ningyo dolls were sought after souvenirs by visitors to Kyoto. Fushimi Inari being one of the must see great shrines of southern Kyoto. The detail of the arms and fabulous facial expression make this a collector's piece.
