American Rockingham, the ware for which Bennington, Vermont became famous in the mid 19th century, is English in origin and name for the Marquis of Rockingham, whose works at Swinton produced a ware similar brownish color. This jar is in exceptional condition with its incredible paint work, the body in red tones with trim of black and an out line there is a pattern in the center of his jar of flowing vine with a white leaf pattern.
