Large natsume in black lacquer covered with gold powder (maki-e). Gold and silver snowflakes decoration in togidashi maki-e on nashi-ji background. The interior is made of dense nashi-ji lacquer.

The natsume is a tea box intended to contain matcha tea for the preparation of the tea ceremony. It is named for its resemblance to the natsume fruit, i.e. the jujube (also called the Chinese date). It is round, short and has a flat lid. It is often made of lacquer...

Two Hanging Scrolls of Cloud-Clad Verdant Mountains by Zhang Daqian (1899-1983) 60½ X 16¼ inches 153.67 X 41.3 cm Ink & Color on Paper Each inscribed & signed with three artist seals. Each bears a connoisseur seal impression of Xu Bojiao, famous Hong Kong-based connoisseur and exclusive agent of Zhang's artwork from 1949 onward. These are from a New York collection.

A washer made of huanghuali wood in a form of a tree trunk with carved lingzhi(ganoderma) on it. 20th Century. Height: 3-3/4"; width: 5-1/2". Condition: Good, please refer to photos.

This is a 9 drawer leather chest, that can be used for a number of things, but is perfect as a jewelry chest. It was made by Maitland Smith and is extremely heavy. The drawers are black lacquer on the inside, and brown leather with gold trim on the outside. It is signed on the inside of the top drawer. It measures 42" tall x 10" wide x 11" deep. It is in good condition with some wear to the leather.

A dish by preeminent avant-garde artist Yagi Kazuo enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Haku Ogi Kashizara dating from the 1960s. The plate is ribbed like the surface of a folding fan, thus the name. It is roughly 7 inches (17.5 cm) diameter and is in excellent condition.

This wildly popular modern glass design by Ercole Barovier is a bold form with a nicely tooled top that follows through on the rib design. It is in good condition and unmarked, 10" tall, 6 pounds. This beauty is available at a reduce price with the group of Cordonato Oro pieces - item 73.

Sumptuous in its expression of the sensual qualities of glass, this stylized sculpture of a figure in repose by Livio Seguso is signed and in excellent condition. The solid glass sculpture weighs 12.5 lbs, measures 6"w x 6"d x 8"h, and was well protected over the years by four felt pads at the corners.

This is a vintage Japanese pottery tea bowl of Hagi ware, which was made by the great potter, the 14th Shinbei Sakakura (1917-1975) about 60 years ago. The glaze has a variaton of light red and grayish colors, intermitted by golden lines of the kintsugi.

He was one of the greatest potters of Hagi ware, who was identified as an important human cultural treasure of Yamaguchi prefecutre, Japan in 1972.

An antique green glazed porcelain bottle vase with the glaze stopping just below the top rim revealing an all over ge-type crackle with dark grey (iron wire) and gold (golden thread) crackle. The base rim unglazed with the base revealing the same ge-type crackle. Unmarked.

Pair of cylinder cases, thinly potted with narrow necks and feet painted in mirror image with birds perched among flowering prunus plants. Accented red hand drawn borders at the rims and base of each vase with a poem on the opposite side.

On the base of each is a red overglaze seal of Liu Yucen.

A Chinese Beijing yellow glass vase, 'yuhuchunping'. This thick-walled multi-layered vase formed with a pear-shaped body is raised on a slightly flared rolled foot. The opaque glass is a bright egg-yolk yellow colour. Qianlong incised four-character mark within a single square. A well-made and heavy vase.

This very rare mug dates from the early period of production at the St. Ives pottery in the 1920s or early ’30s. In those years Leach was developing the designs for his later production and one can see in the body and the handle of this mug characteristics that became typical of the Standard Ware designs of the post-WWII period. An antique Chinese seal chop of soapstone with an image of Hotei. Chinese seals are used with red ink or cinnabar paste (zhusha). A seal in an East is a general name for printing stamps and impressions which are used in lieu of signatures in personal documents, office paperwork, contracts, art, or any item requiring acknowledgement or authorship. The process started in China and soon spread across East Asia.
