A small oil on Masonite painting of giraffes silhouetted by an African sunset, 10" by 8", unframed, signed at lower right "B.C. Syrett 1968". I do not see information on the artist, who was obviously talented. The painting could use a cleaning to remove soiled varnish, light scuffs and some stray black surface marks in the sky.
PAIR OF MOUNTED OLD CHINESE JADE CARVING PLAQUES, DATING TO THE REPUBLIC PERIOD
A fine pair of larger carvings of an old man and a boy with a bird and two boys in a garden. Finely made and mounted in a low grade silver metal mounts, so that they can be carried and used as ornaments. Both carved in a white/celadon jade.
Size: ca. 70 mm. long each and weighing 107 grams total.
Vintage circa 1960's wood jewelry or trinkets footed casket, stamped on bottom Made in Italy, 7" high by 5 1/2" high by 4" wide. There are two drawers in which to place treasures and small items. There is a lot of gilt painted area with incised fleur de lis type designs and other diamond-shaped designs. There is wear on the knobs and in a number of other places, which contribute to a feeling of antiquity.
This powder jar was designed by Charles H. Oestreich of Brooklyn NY: the design was patented January 13, 1931. There is a pink elephant on the lid and the jar has an overall frosted finish. Excellent condition. See my other listings for more Depression era dresser items.
This is an 800 SILVER SERVING SPOON with Heavily Chased work on the front. DESIGNED with CROWNS and LIONS the length is 7 3/4"; the Bowl measures 1 3/4" X 2 3/4". The back is plain. Ca. 1925- 1950 the Condition is EXCELLENT

Fostoria made the Navarre etching from 1936-82. This very hard to find cordial is in mint condition. Height: 3.9" tall.
A fine larger carving in emerald of an Owl Fetish, Native American, probably Zuni, Navaho tribe and 20th. century.
The carving is cut and polished in one emerald stone and depicts an Owl. The stone is transperant light blue-green and very beautiful.
Zuni fetishes are small carvings made from primarily stone but also shell, fossils, and other materials by the Zuni people...
