This very well made and hand painted vase is a 19th century product. It is 9 ½” high and 2 ¾” wide from the widest part. It depicts chrysanthemum and butterflies over a beige crackled body. This is a fine Japanese Satsuma sake pot or small teapot. It is signed by Kinkozan. It measures 4 1/2 inches across at the spout. The handle is slightly tattered but the pot is in excellent condition.

This is a fine early Japanese Satsuma Koro done in the early or Gosu style. The stained decorative lid appears to be bronze. In person it is more detailed and attractive than the images show. Of note on the inside rim there is a fired factory flaw that is shown in the last image. Condition is excellent it stands 4 inches tall.

An elegant Kyo-yaki wine ewer of traditional form decorated in gilt outlined enamels with weeping cherry Shidarezakura and brocade bands to the cover and rim. A fine kikugata mukuzuke moulded dish in the form of an asymmetric Chrysanthemum bloom with central motif of a single Chrysanthemum leaf richly enamelled in green and blue enamels with gilding. The rim decorated with a dark brown iron temmoku style glaze. The dish measures 18.5cm in length, 14cm wide and stands 4cm high. Oversize (almost 18" tall) double-gourd shaped Kinkozan Satsuma vase, circa 1880. This outstanding vase is signed (appears to read: "Dai Nihon--Kinkozan Tsukuru"). This vase was repaired early in its career with four metal staples. An extremely rare form. Displays a wonderful tension between the formal middle apron and the zen-like top and bottom.

This is a very fine and unusual Japanese Satsuma vase with relief figures. The work on this piece is highly detailed and the gold thickly applied. The Dragon and clouds are decorated with silver. The piece is in very good condition will minor wear. The Artist signature is the most worn area on the piece. With magnification it can be seen that it is signed Fuzan but it is very hard to make out. I have included a similar Fuzan mark for comparison. The vase stands 8 1/2 inches tall.
