Olympian sterling silver centerpiece bowl. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. Curved and tapering bowl on domed foot. At top a dense repousse frieze of love-making, harp-stumming nymphs, gods, and cherubs. Foot rim has rinceaux border. A beautiful piece in the celebrated Beaux-Arts pattern that was conceived by French designer F. Antoine Heller and debuted at the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1878.

Art Nouveau sterling silver nursery rhyme baby cup. Made by Whiting in New York, ca 1900. Tall and waisted bowl with wavy rim and c-scroll handle with splayed trefoil mount and baluster tail. Engraved depiction of the Three Blind Mice, sightless rodents with alert ears and long whiskers. Acid-etched text: "Three / Blind / Mice / Did you / ever see / such / a sight in / your life". Unlike many of the pieces in the genre of Kyo-ware, this tea bowl is decidedly demure in appearance. Milky, flowing glaze pools in places along a backdrop of ivory and coral pink sides, contrasting nicely with the rough, unrefined clay of the base. In the center of the kodai is a decorative swirl pattern reminiscent of the yin and yang.
