Fine Chinese Tang Dynasty Painted White Pottery Warrior
This fine pottery figure of a warrior, or soldier, was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). The majority of similar Tang figures are made from a lower-fired reddish pottery whereas this particular example is made from the more desirable "white" pottery. It is "heavily-potted" and relatively highly-fired, having a distinct "ring" to it when tapped, and the pottery has fired to a pale creamy-pink colour. It has been "cold painted"...
Fine Chinese Tang Dynasty Glazed Pottery Figure
This pottery figure was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is "heavily-potted" and made from a relatively highly-fired creamy-white pottery. The visible joins at each side show it was made in a two-piece mould. Glazed Tang figures are so much rarer and more desirable than painted figures; the body of this figure is coated in very finely-crackled dark yellow glaze. The head remains unglazed and there are traces of the original "cold...

A Pforzheim Germany plique-a-jour enamel Arts and Crafts necklace from the 1910 era. This stunning survivor from the Edwardian era was made in the Pforsheim area of Germany which was the center of such items. This fine example measures 1-7/8 x 15/16", it has a baroque pearl drop and a pink tourmalin...
