A large and robustly shaped late Qing covered ginger jar, in the Kangxi style with famille verte flower-baskets against a powder blue ground.

Chinese Rose Verte Yanyan Vase. Decorated with panels of birds among flowers and rocks, kingfisher, lotus, lion dogs and figures in a landscape. On a powder blue ground. Base with a four character Kangxi mark. 19thC. Height 18 11/4" (46.4cm). Condition; neck leans slightly and firing fault inside rim. Glaze frits to edge of base. No cracks, chips or restoration.

A Jiaqing mark and period circular dish, covered in a rich and bubbly cobalt blue glaze. Surface wear suggest that this dish had once been gilt-decorated with a dragon among clouds. The roughly written mark is typical for non-official wares of this period.

A huge 19th century monochrome charger, glazed in cobalt blue of a intense hue. This piece is thickly potted and quite heavy.

Condition: great antique condition, with only minor flaws at the rim (fleabite chips and glaze fritting) [Please view all pictures carefully, as they are part of the condition report.]

Offered is a lovely and rare Chinese porcelain octagonal saucer, dating to the Kangxi period, circa 1720. It measures about 4 3/8 inches or 11 cm across. While octagonal saucers with this general pattern of panels and blooms are sometimes seen, they are typically in white with the pattern in blue. This appears to be a variant (perhaps for the Islamic market) wherein cobalt blue is the dominant color, reinforced by the comprehensive gilding. Chinese Qing dynasty monochrome blue glazed censer with inward rounded rim. The white glazed interior ends at the circular unglazed center. This form evolved from a tripod censer and vestiges of the three legs remain as small protrusions at the bottom surrounding the unglazed circular base. Measures about 10” diameter x 5” high. 19th century. Very good overall condition. From the estate of Gerhard Lohmeier, a Diplomat at the German Embassy in Beijing from 1985 to 1989.
