A very fine quality antique 19th century, Islamic, Indo-Persian, lacquered papier mache bowl of lobed circular form, with a scalloped rim on a raised circular foot. It has 26 lobed petals superbly hand-painted in gold and various pigments with flower sprays, foliage, and teardrop-shaped paisley motifs. This is an antique Chinese Qing dynasty letter opener from the late 19th century. It is designed as a miniature sword Jian, and the handle and scabbard are made of bone. Both sides of the bone have been scrimshaw engraved with bird and plant designs and mounted with brass fittings. The steel blade is straight, sturdy, and sharp, with a diamond-shaped cross-section. The maker's mark is stamped on the ricasso of the blade.

CONDITION: Unbroken, with some chips on outer edge and inner ring. Nice patina, showing the age and usage, sooty nozzles from original use, some spots with old wax deposits on the surface.

Rare ancient pre-Columbian Ameca-Ezatlán terracotta sculpture of a standing woman, 300 BC - 300 AD, from Jalisco region, in central-western Mexico.

The ceramic figure is exquisitely crafted and features a female standing with curvaceous proportions. She stands on arched feet with her arms stretched outward. Her broad shoulders and ample breasts give her a commanding presence. The sculpture is decorated with a necklace made of shell pendant and painted with white buff paint.

This is a bronze Scythian brooch from an ancient Eurasian Steppe culture dating back to the 6th-4th Century B.C. The brooch is shaped like a recumbent deer, with a slender body and pronounced musculature. The legs are folded beneath the body, and the head is large, with round eyes, facial features, and stylized antlers. The reverse side has its original clasp for attachment.

Antique 17th-18th century Islamic Indo-Persian Safavid tinned-copper footed bowl. The bowl is tall and is made of cast, turned copper. It has a deep form and a flaring foot. It is decorated with elaborate Arabic calligraphy, which has been chiseled and engraved into the copper. The calligraphy is paired with composite palmettes. The pronounced rim of the bowl is also embellished with a continuous key pattern.
