**This item is On Hold**A white porcelain "Blanc-de-Chine" Buddhist Lion incense stick holder in similar style to the larger Guardian Lions which are frequently to be found at the entrances to Buddhist temples. These were probably originally made for domestic home altars and were among the first items to be exported to Europe from China as decorative objects. This item was made in the kilns of Dehua, Fujian Province, South China ,circa 1640-1660, and exported to Europe during the middle of the 17th Century. For a very similar example please see catalogue # 90 in "Blanc de Chine - Porcelain from Dehua a catalogue of the Hickley Collection, Singapore" by Rose Kerr & John Ayers. Condition: one old 3cm hairline to the base; no further damages, no losses and no restoration. 16.8cm (6.5inches) high.

An elaborately inlaid three drawer marquetry cabinet, unusually, with tambour doors. This item was made in Japan, for export, during the late 19th or early 20th century. In very good used condition; there is one small piece of veneer missing from the top back corner of the right side; no further losses, no restoration and no alterations. 23 cm (9 inches) high; 24.5 cm (9.5 inches) high.

A Famille Rose enamelled figure of a lady made in China for export to Europe circa 1780-1800 during the reign of either the Qianlong or Jiaqing emperors. Condition - the head has broken off and been re-glued; one earring is missing and there are small chips to the yellow head dress and to three finger tips. There has been no restoration. 20cm (7.9 inches) high.

A thickly potted high footed porcelain dish decorated with 'famille rose' enamels depicting three Manchurian Cranes in flight above waves and framed with a simplified 'key fret' border. Inside the foot, on the base, is the Minyao six character iron red seal mark of the Tongzhi emperor. This item was made in China during either the Tongzhi (1862-1874) reign or a little later during the reign of the Guangxu emperor (1875-1908). Condition: good - there is wear to the enamels and there are small chips and frits to the rim; there are no cracks and there has been no restoration. 4.8cm (1.9 inches) high; 16.5cm (6.5 inches) across.

A rare carved bone abacus with integral reverse glass painting depicting four boys, in a garden setting, peering into a large fish bowl. There is an added inscritpion carved into one side recording that this item was given as a gift in Hong Kong in 1953. Condition; very good - no damages or losses. 11.5cm (4.5 inches) long; 5.5cm (2.2 inches) wide; 1.5cm deep.

A moulded porcelain chrysanthemum shaped bowl decorated on the outside in blue and white enamels with stylized scrolling lotus flowers and bats 'Fu' (good luck). Incorporated within this pattern are three overglaze red and gold 'Shou' (long life) characters. The base carries the iron red reign mark of the Daoguang emperor (1821-1850). This item was made in China, in the mid 19th Century, for export to the Malaysian "Straits" Chinese community. A rare original pair of clear plastic cased Yellow coloured ankle boots with clear moulded plastic heels, each with an impressed Mary Quant 'Daisy' motif capable of creating a trail of daisy footprints in wet sand. This design was introduced in 1967 and is typical of the innovative use of new materials in the cutting edge British fashions of the 1960s. For a similar pair in this style please view the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York) and also a pair in this colour in the collection of the Museum of London. We bought these boots in 1976 as part of a large clearance of 1960s clothing from an S&U Stores depot in Wednesbury (outside Birmingham). Condition: Unused, no damages or losses, but displaying some minor signs of aging such as the brown internal mark at the back of the right foot. Size: 5 (UK). An "ogee" shaped porcelain bowl decorated with polychrome 'famille rose' enamels depicting two pheasants amongst flowering peony and pomegranate branches and below a band of alternating lotus flowers and the eight Buddhist emblems, the Bajixiang. The seal mark to the base reads "Zhong Hua Min Guo" (Republic of China), dating it to the period 1911-1949. Condition: there are rim frits / chips and there is a light 1cm hairline to the rim ; no further damages and no restoration. 14cm (5.5inches) diameter; 5.9cm (2.3inches) high.
