This a Large Wooden Carved Polychrome Crucifix made during the 19th century possibly from Cypress wood. It was made in the manner made popular by the Spanish for the making of religious figures/sculptures from the 12th century, which consisted of carving the sculpture from light wood (cypress), then covering it in layers of Gesso (Yeso), the flesh tones of the face, arms, torso an legs were applied by a painter, and finally, 'Estofado' was applied to embellish the drapery (cloth) with gilded touches. This sculpture has been carefully carved to show the image of Christ. The anatomy is intact in its entirety. All the fingers, toes remain in place, and the its skin is whole. The original paint remains as when it was applied on 98-percent of the sculpture. This is very remarkable for a work of art that has been around for more than a hundred years. The painting in the entire sculpture has acquired a darker color or patina due to its age. Otherwise, it remains in its original condition. The corpus is placed on an antique French Cross with fine incised carvings and thorns. Normally, sculpture of this age are missing flakes of skin on various parts of its corpus; showing the underlying gesso, but the skin and its colors on this corpus have remained as when it was originally made. Excellently preserved original condition. The Cross measures 26 inches tall and 13 inches wide. The Corpus measures 17. 75 inches tall, 12 inches wide, and 3-inches deep.

This excellent 19th century WKC (Weyersburg, Kirschbaum & Company, Solingen, Germany) Imperial Hunting Cutlass is 22 inches in length. The mounts are composed of beautiful brass throughout the hilt and scabbard. The pommel area has a fluted nut at the top center of the cap which acts as a threaded tang nut. The pommel has a smooth upper surface with curved edges featuring line decorated sides. The ferrule below is also lined, having otherwise smooth surfaces. The crossguard features the plain center block area on both sides and the quillon arms go outward in the shape of deer’s hooves. The hair is simulated from the deer’s legs from hand enhancing into the metal. The left guard goes upward the right guard goes downward. Below is an interesting clam shell having scalloped edges. In the center area it features the eight-rayed, faceted silver star that bears the eagle surrounded by the order motto "SUUM CUIQUE" - To each his own - and the double laurel branch engraved in gold on white enamel. There is hand work evident to the renderings. The grip really ties in these interesting mounts. It is a thick stubby stag antler, having tan and brown colors to the raised grains. It tips slightly to the left and was obviously chosen for its specifications that almost exactly fit the ferrule and pommel cap with little trimming required. This weighty stubby grip is decorated with three leafless acorns with finely checkered caps. A most fetching hilt here, much different in style than most. The blade has a fuller down to three quarters of its length. It has been cleaned and polished with most details of etching worn away. Edge has been sharpened. Blade length is 16 inches. The scabbard retains its original black leather with some scratches and signs of wear. It is decorated with twin accent lines that run the length of the edges on both sides. The brass mounts have scalloped edges and are retained by staples. The lower mount is enhanced with dual lines and has a couple of scratches and lined dents, while the upper mount its in excellent condition and features a fine acorn-shaped lug with nice detail to the acorn cap
