This finely carved noble lady is a mid or late 19th century product. It is 12” high, 2 ¾” wide and 2 3/8” thick. There is an honorable “Yong Zheng” mark on the bottom. The lady is holding a bunch of lily blossoms in her left hand and a basket of peony blossoms in her right hand. The statue has great patina. Aside from some loss of coloring and a small old repair to a broken tassel on the front of her robe, it is in excellent condition.

This carved reticulate nephrite is 6 ½ inches long, 2 ½ inches wide and a quarter of an inch thick. It has a traditional Chinese motif which includes a dragon, flowers, a vine and characters. The meaning of these four characters is ¡°celebrating happy events and long life¡±. The workmanship is just wonderful. It was carved in two layers which makes it even more interesting. There are a few small chips on the sides. It is in good condition.

This mid 19th century famille-rose ink pan (box) is 2 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. On the top of the cover depicts two roosters fighting in the flower garden. The side is decorated with a floral design. It is in excellent condition.

This late 19th or early 20th century Chinese jade carving is 6 inches tall, 3 ¼ inches wide and 2 ¼ inches in depth. One side depicts a seated goddess of mercy (Guan Yin) in a cave. Pine trees are growing above the cave. A pagoda covered with clouds appears on a far away mountain. On the other side, we find two old pine trees growing on a mountain. This late 19th century Chinese Famille Rose leaf shape tile is 9 ¾” long, 8 ¼” on the widest part and a quarter of an inch thick. It depicts Emperor Wusu wearing armor and holding his hands in front of his chest. Aside from one small chip on the rim, it is in great condition.

This very well carved ivory statue of a scholar is a late 19th century product. It is 11" high (with hardwood carved base, it is 13" high), 3 1/2" wide and 2 1/2" thick. The image is the well-known Song Dynasty (960AD~1270AD) hermit scholar Lin Pu (林 逋). Li Pu (967AD~1028AD) was born in Hang Zhou City, Zhe Jiang. When he was young he traveled a lot. These late 19th century Chinese Famille Rose 8 sided ceramic bowls with fitted wood bases are 3 ¾” high (with base is 5 ¾” high) and 8” wide. On the outside of the bowls, there are images of 8 young ladies playing traditional musical instruments. There are floral designs on the inside. There is a red honorific Yung Zheng mark on the bottoms. One bowl has a 2 3/4" long hair line crack inside and a small chip shows on the outside rim. Please see image 4.

An older girl is covering the ears of another frightened boy. The workmanship is simple and elegant. This rectangular grayish jade (nephrite) plaque is 1 ¾” long, 2 3/4” wide and 3/16” thick. It is a late 19th century product. It is carved as a dragon in the center, two flower blossoms and two leaves are on the four corners and a curly pattern swirls around the dragon. Though it is a thin piece, it was carved very skillfully and carefully into a two layered object. Aside from a tiny chip on one side, it is in great condition.
