This late 19th century Chinese famille-rose water jar is 2 ¾ inches tall and 2 ¾ inches wide. It depicts five boys in a procession. The first two boys are holding banners and gongs. The third is holding a lantern. The forth child is dressed in red and is riding a Qilin (a Chinese legendary animal which has a dragon head and ox body). This boy carries a puppet. The last boy is holding a fancy umbrella. The workmanship is excellent and it is in great condition.

This carved reticulate nephrite is 6 ½ inches long, 2 ½ inches wide and a quarter of an inch thick. It has a traditional Chinese motif which includes a dragon, flowers, a vine and characters. The meaning of these four characters is ¡°celebrating happy events and long life¡±. The workmanship is just wonderful. It was carved in two layers which makes it even more interesting. There are a few small chips on the sides. It is in good condition.

This Chinese pink glazed vase is a mid 19th century product. The entire body is covered with a soft rosy pink glaze, commonly called du Barry rouge. The Chinese name for the shape of this kind of vase is “Tian Qiu Vase” 天 球 瓶. It is 8” high and 5” wide measured from the widest part. It has an honorable “Yong Zhong” 雍 正 (1723~1735) mark on the bottom. It is in excellent condition. More detailed photos are available.

This superb carved ivory page turner is an early 19th century product. On one side there is a very well carved garden scene and figures; a textured pattern covers the other side. It is 12 ¼” long, 1 5/8” wide and a little less than quarter of an inch thick (measured from the handle). It has a great patina. Aside from one hair line crack on the back, it is in excellent condition.

This late 19th century sterling silver and jade bracelet is 7 inches long and half of an inch wide. There are five pieces of jade (jadeite) mounted in silver fittings and two Chinese characters in outline form at the end of the bracelet. On the back is stamped “sterling” and “China”. Chinese Dao Guang period (1821~1850) white porcelain bowl with blue ¡°SHOU¡± (longevity) on the outside and a plain turquoise glaze inside. The orange pattern on the rim has rubbed off slightly. This pair of Guang Xu Period (1875~1908) Guan Yao ¡°Imperial Kiln¡± fruit stands are 2 ¾ inches tall and 9 ¼ inches in diameter. They depict black and white sparrow and flowers on a turquoise background. They have three separate floral designs on the back of the stands and a black lace like design on the foot. There are a few tiny chips on the rims and the color has slightly rubbed off. Four old repairs close to the rim two on each stand.

This very well carved ivory statue of a scholar is a late 19th century product. It is 11" high (with hardwood carved base, it is 13" high), 3 1/2" wide and 2 1/2" thick. The image is the well-known Song Dynasty (960AD~1270AD) hermit scholar Lin Pu (林 逋). Li Pu (967AD~1028AD) was born in Hang Zhou City, Zhe Jiang. When he was young he traveled a lot.
