Of good size, this gorgeous modernist domed enamel measures 2 1/8" high by 1 13/16" wide. The enamel colors are various shades of blue, yellow, green, red, tan, and white. Excellent condition. Sterling modernist star earrings by the famous NYC silversmith, Ed Wiener, c.1952. These hand made asymmetrical stars with recessed oxydized silver solid centers and shiny silver forming the raised outline of the stars are expansive and exciting. They measure 1 3/8" at the widest and are in excellent condition. The screwback was put over the mark, so you see "ED ST". This was a frequent occurrence and the complete mark is under the soldered screwback...

The "WAVY BOW" pin is one of the rarest and LARGEST sterling pins by the famous designer William Spratling, Mexico, c.1940. This glorious HANDMADE` piece of art measures 6 1/2" by 2 7/8" and is signed "SPRATLING SILVER(in oval) WS(in circle-around which says) SPRATLING MADE IN MEXICO". The design is a stylized generous dotted bow looping around with 7 buttercup flowers peeking through the bow. Photographed on page 122 in "WILLIAM SPRATLING AND THE MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE"...

"Prize winning piece which is made of four different metals and two stones" describes this Los Castillo pin in MEXICAN JEWELRY by Davis & Pack, p.188. It also appears on p.187 in WILLIAM SPRATLING and the MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE as "Los Castillo, prize-winning cubist parrot broach". This famous pin was made in Mexico, c.1947. The metals are sterling, brass, copper, and, perhaps pewter. The stones used are black onyx and malachite in matrix...

One of the best and largest silver pins by Hector Aguilar, Mexico, c.1948. Beautiful repouseed floral pin showing play between oyxidized deep lines and shiny surface silver. Very large, it measures 3 1/2" long by 3 1/4" wide. Signature is unusual showing eagle mark(not usual bellmark), one of the earliest dies ordered from Germany - "eagle mark 940 HA TAXCO". Lovely silver and copper pin by Enrique Ledesma, Mexico, c.1947. Unusual design with hand stamped hearts and butterflies with copper overlay. Made of heavy gauge silver, it measures 2 3/4" long by 1 3/4" wide. Signed "925 LEDESMA PLATERIA CORTES HECHO EN MEXICO bellmark 3" and is in excellent condition. Sterling and onyx Mayan face pin by Fred Davis, Mexico, c.1947. Davis managed Sanborn's for 20 years during this period. See pg. 23 of The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks. Since this is a classic Fred Davis design, this is his work. It is signed "22(Sanborn's bellmark number) MEXICO STERLING" and is in excellent condition. It measures 1 9/16" wide by 1 1/8" high. Mexican/art deco REPOUSSE design sterling necklace and bracelet set by Los Castillo, Mexico, c.1940. Dimensional swirling design set backed in silver is made of heavy gauge silver. Each piece is signed "LOS CASTILLO TAXCO STERLING MEXICO 663". Each link measures 1 3/16" in diameter. The 14- link necklace is 16 3/4" long and the 6-link bracelet is 7 3/8" long.
