In Marc Heiremans' book ARCHIMEDE SEGUSO this "a canne ritorte" design is documented on page 82. The execution and finish of this fazzoletto confirm the Murano Artisans' mastery of working with Glass and would be a fine addition to any serious collection of 20th Century Murano Glass. The pontil mark on the bottom has been carved out and polished, indicating careful attention to details. The piece measures 4 1/2"H x 6" D. Condition is perfect.

Flavio Poli designed 5 variations of this fine example of Modern Design for Seguso Vetri D'Arte in the 1930's. Marc Heiremans' "SEGUSO VETRI D'ARTE" documents this sculptural bowl form: Model #3434, P. 85. This beauty is done in the "pesco oro" technique, with gold foil embedded to enhance the richness of the material. Thick sculpted glass to the exterior produces a modernist form which beautifully catches light. It measures 2 1/4"H, 6"D and is in excellent condition.

In the mid-1930s, Venini engaged Carlo Scarpa to design innovative glass surface textures and this historical gem, "A BOLLICINE", survives in excellent condition! This lovely vase was made in the early 1950s by Dino Martens for Aureliano Toso. Marc Heiremans documents the model #5148 and date of 1952-53 in his book DINO MARTENS, p. 163 and 190. Aventurine, champagne and opalino half filigree embrace the body of the vessel and ribbon details were applied to the lip and neck. The vase measures 5 1/2"H, 4 1/2"D. and is in good vintage condition.

Leslie Pina describes this piece as "Bischoff bearded collie dog in gray and white alabastro with black and white eyes, and curled tail, 1969" in her book, "ARCHIMEDE SEGUSO, LACE & STONE", P. 178. These bottles were made to hold cherry brandy (this one is empty). Liquor bottle aside, the sculptural quality of this opalino beauty is notable! This fine vessel is 11 1/2" H, 4"W, 3" D, maintains its original Bischoff label, has a nicely polished base and is in perfect condition.

This elegant green shell bowl with a swan on the scalloped rim, attr Salviati early 1900s, is an excellent example of the masterful craftsmanship of the Murano glass artisans. The ribbed green shell bowl and the blown foot have flecks of gold leaf; the swan is crystal with gold leaf. There is a pontil mark on the bottom of the foot. The piece stands 5" tall, 5" long, and 2 1/2" wide. In Carol M. Osborne's "Venetian Glass of the 1890's: Salviati at Stanford University", a similar green shell bowl is shown in Plate 183, P. 149; and a similar swan in Plate 229, P.180. Considering its age it is in good condition.

This stunning platter titled METEOR by Massachusetts studio Glass Artist Charles Correll, signed and dated "Correll '85" is 19 1/2" diameter. This charming pair of vintage glass hound dogs, made by Archimede Seguso in the "nero a macchie di smalto bianco" (black with white spots) style in the 1950s. Documented in "Archimede Seguso, Lace & Stone" by Leslie Pina, P. 162, 213. Both are in excellent condition, with the dark-headed one having a few minor scuffs consistent with its age. They each stand 4" tall, 2 1/2" wide. Would sell individually for $225 each.

This charming bird sculpture veiled in silver is typical design produced by Seguso Vetri d'arte in the 1930s.This series points to the transition of Murano Glass design and traditional style to modern expression and highlights the Murano Artisans passion forinterpreting their natural environment. The rectangular cante bubble design is attributed to Archimede Seguso. The nearly 100 year old Murano Collectible is in excellent condition with normal wear at the base. The bowl is approximately 6" in diameter and 2" high. The bird perched on the bowl is 3" tall and almost 4" long. There is a punty mark on the bottom.

This cast glass sculpture by Studio Glass artist Don Gonzalez, was created by pouring hot glass into a mold of sand. The color is melted into the glass while it is still molten at 2300F. After cooling, the piece is extensively cut and polished. Titled NAIADES SPRING, this contemporary Art Glass sculpture references the Naiades, the ancient Greek spirits of the spring, waterfall and other bodies of fresh water.
