A beautiful bronze standard finial of the "Master of Animals" type. A tube in anthropomorphic form, worked on both sides identically, showing a human with a long nose and jutting ears, grasping the necks of two animals. Western Iran, Luristan culture, c. 9th-7th century B.C. Provenance: Private Collection, Switzerland. Condition: fine, with nice patina. Dimension: height: 15.2 cm.

A large two-colored Egyptian eye of Horus amulet. Made of turquoise glazed composite, the pupil and eyebrows accentuated in dark brown. Dating c. to the 22nd to 25th Dynasties, 946 - 657 B.C. Condition: traces of age. Dimension: c. 3.3 cm long, 2 cm high, 0.5 cm thick.

A set of six silver bowls, the center with raised omphalos. Below an acanthus bordure decorated with a band of Arabic calligraphy. No mark, but silver tested. Condition: due to the high silver content the bowls are quite soft and some are slightly distorted. Three bowls with few dents. Dimension: diameter: 10.6 cm, 5.1 cm high, total weight: 476 g.

A North Indian pandan steel casket for offering betel. Of circular form with hinged lid, inlaid with flower scrolls in silver. Condition: interior with some oxidation. Dimension: diameter: 12 cm, 9.3 cm high, weight: 606 g.

A woven red silk panel brocaded in silver thread, showing roundels with the cintamani enclosed by tiger stripes motif. Bordered with a figured silk fabric, cotton lining. Condition: little wear, few tiny stains. Dimension: c. 34 cm x 90 cm.

A punch dagger with tapering double edged steel blade, each face decorated with a four-armed deity. Straight handle with double-grip, decorated on the side with flowers. Sheath made of wood with velvet lining. Condition: tip slightly chipped, sheath with losses. Some flash rust. Dimension: 44.6 cm long, 7.4 cm wide.

A Chinese court "chao fu" silk skirt, altered as a Carnival costume, using one quarter of the skirt as a flap (photo No. 6). Night blue silk with sixteen dragon roundels and four five-clawed "long" dragons pursuing the flaming pearl among clouds, bats and cranes, above waves, stylized rocks and the "lishui" pattern. Rare and early vintage albumen print of the Shimbashi Railway Station in Tokyo, with festive decoration and banners wearing the imperial seal "kiku-mon". The Tokyo to Yokohama rail line opened on 14th October 1872, with a great ceremony as the emperor took the first official ride, arriving at Shimbashi Station in a Western carriage. Mounted on coeval cardboard. Condition: fine, minimally faded, a tiny hole. Dimension: photo: 20.1 cm x 25.9 cm, cardboard: 34.8 cm x 43.8 cm.

Early vintage albumen print of the two large bronze Kannons near the Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa, Tokyo, with children. Numbered in Japanese "277". Mounted on coeval cardboard. A weaving pulley in the shape of a woman with pinned-up coiffure ending in two horns. Carved from hardwood with dark patina, the reel is worked from a nut or another material. Collected by the Swiss ethnologist Charlotte von Graffenried, author of the book "Akan Goldweights". Condition: traces of usage, the body and one horn with a split. Dimension: c. 15.5 cm high x 7.4 cm wide.
