A cast bronze cattle bell decorated with a kind of garland. Dating to the Eastern Javanese Period. For a similar bell please refer to: "Indo-Javanese Metalwork" by Linden-Museum Stuttgart, no. 205. Provenance: Private Collection, Switzerland. Condition: clapper is missing, patina. Dimension: 10.3 cm high x 12 cm long x 8.6 cm deep.

A Kashmir papier-mache vase with polychrome and gold lacquer decoration in the Mughal style. Showing couple of birds on a mille-fleurs ground or a golden feather pattern, framed by a mihrab border. The sides with two small handles in the shape of tiger heads. Condition: some chips and losses to the lacquer. Dimension: c. 22.8 cm high.

The exterior chiselled and engraved, the neck with a band of nasta'liq inscription and the body with lattice containing flowerheads. Quatrefoil with owner's or maker's name. Condition: traces of usage, rubbing to tinning. Dimension: diameter: 28.5 cm, 15 cm high.

A large bronze image, cast in two pieces, showing the Tamil deity Aiyanar riding on his horse. The bejewelled cavalier is holding a curved sword and a round shield, wearing decorated bloomers. The stallion with sumptuous harness. Condition: traces of usage. Dimension: c. 29.8 cm high, c. 24 cm long, c. 8.8 cm wide, weight: 3.4 kg.

A brass kettle once used by the wealthy Malay to serve drinking water during weddings or festivals or it may have also been used to store water for washing the right hand after eating. Often produced by the Minangkabau brass or bronze casters of Western Sumatra. Movable handle. Condition: traces of usage, handle with remains of soldering. Carmine red silk ground fabric with star lattice pattern in silver and gold paper wrapped threads, using the songket supplementary weft technique. Maybe a ceremonial shoulder cloth (kain selendang). Provenance: old Swiss collection. Condition: wear to the metallic twine, only partially preserved. Holes, wear, one rim with loss. Dimension: 133 cm x 53.2 cm.

A Padang Highlands gilt brass kettle with false lid and a lidded box standing on three legs, both cast with the lost wax method showing floral and geometric motifs. Condition: both lids with few tiny casting holes, the box interior with some rust, both items with traces of usage. Dimension: kettle: c. 21.5 cm high, c. 15 cm long, box: c. 13.8 cm high, diameter: c. 13 cm, weight together: 1400 g.

A small carved wooden stele from Nepal of a Buddhist or more likely Hindu deity, maybe Indra. Bejeweled god with a fan-shaped crown, seated on a lotus base in lalita-sana under a mandorla. Traces of vermilion. Condition: see photos, wear, and small losses. Dimension: total height: c. 17.3 cm, c. 10.3 cm wide, c. 5 cm deep.

A "töla gasa" ceremonial bracelet of the Nias people made from "tridacna gigas" (giant clam shell). For a similar example please visit the website of the "Musée Quai Branly" in Paris. Provenance: Private Collection, Switzerland. Condition: rims with chips. Dimension: c. 7.1 cm high, diameter: c. 9.2 cm, weight: 454 g.

The ground fabric was certainly made in China. The ends of the shawl are finely embroidered in multi-colored silk yarn. The embroidery is identical on both surfaces. The sides with fringes or crochet work. Condition: one hole (near embroidery) and few tiny holes, few tiny stains and loose threads. Dimension: length without fringes: approx. 225 cm, width: 45 cm.

Composed of different cotton fabrics, made into a rectangular shaped woman’s prayer cloth indicating qibla, the direction of prayer. The basic fabrics are geometrically worked tapestry weaves, crocheted together. All sides with fringes, backed with a plain weaves. Condition: traces of usage, few thin areas, lining little stained. Dimension with fringes: 113 cm x 55 cm.

The basic fabric is a linen weave with black stripes. The ends are embroidered with a striped camel carrying a coffin to Mecca, in polychrome threads and decorated with fold silvered metal. The base fabric is a coarse weave (maybe linen) with a decorative weft. Both ends with two-faced embroidery in gold-wrapped thread in Turkish baroque style. Condition: fine, only little patina. Dimension without fringes: 113 cm x 49 cm.

The basic fabric is a very fine plain weave, probably cotton with some silk, embroidered with pastel colored silk yarn and metal threads. Worked identically on both surfaces. Condition: few losses of metal thread, six small holes, little patina. Dimension: 214 cm x 36.5 cm.

A pair Japanese hairpins in the fluttering style, worked in silver alloy and having attached metal strips. Showing beautiful peony flowers, one with tiny coral beads forming the center. Ending in a mimikaki (ear spoon). Condition: missing metal stripes, professional cleaning needed. Dimension: 16.9 cm long x 4.5 cm wide.

An antique Persian seal or weight, made from bronze or brass, both sides engraved with Islamic script. From an old Swiss collection. Condition: traces of usage. Dimension: 2.1 cm x 2.1 cm x 0.7 cm.

A wooden spoon for sherbet, soup or rice made in two parts. Carved from light wood, the handle with inscriptions in ink under a varnish. Condition: few traces of usage. Dimension: 27.6 cm long.

A rectangular pouch made of sewn together termeh wool weaves with boteh motif. Decorated with gold braids and raised embroidery in couched metal lamellae. Silk lining.
