A Chinese plate, late Kangxi or Yongzheng, early 18th c. Decoration of a river landscape in under-glaze blue, over-glaze iron red and gilt. Red mountains in the background- unusual - apparently with snow at the top. Diameter “9/23 cm. Condition: rim frits and minimal wear to the well.

Copper engraving of a rocky landscape by the sea, in the foreground a romantic couple fishing. After a painting by Joseph (Claude-Joseph) Vernet (1714 – 1789), number 303 from a series of engravings after the works of famous artists edited in the 1760’s by Johann Georg Hertel in Augsburg. Nice frame in green and gilt. Image size "8 ¾ / 22.5 cm x "6 ½ / 16.5 cm, frame "14 / 35 cm x "11 ½ / 29 cm. Condition: the edge of the paper with some minor spots.

Opaline glass and wooden framed box with geometric decoration in suprematist style, inspired by the De Stijl school and the porcelain created in Russia by Nikolai Suetin with its roots in the art of Kasimir Malevich. Late 1920’s, Dutch or Belgian, unmarked. Width including the wooden base "6 ¼ / 16 cm, height "2 1/2 / 6.3 cm. Condition: wear to the decoration (cf. pics).

An enamel on copper cup or beaker and a small dish. Both are Italian modernist pieces (1950’s), both enameled in tomato red with black speckles (the back of the dish in gilt and white). Both pieces marked Made in Italy: the cup with a small metal sign in the way of Paolo de Poli,the dish with impressed mark. Height of cup "2/ 5 cm, diameter of dish "3½/ 8,7 cm. Condition: fine.

A 1950's decorative plaque from Vallauris, France. Still life of vegetables in glossy green and red against a matted grey background. On the back an original label for Louis Giraud, renowned for his table tops and plaques. Width "9 ½ / 24 cm. Condition: fine.

A heavy Bristol green rummer, the stem with a nice grip, and a wine glass. Mouth blown and made around 1810, the rims softly rounded. The pontil mark of the wine glass removed by grinding, while it is still left on the rummer. Some little air bubbles, the rim of the wine glass with a mark from the tongs used to cut the bowl loose from the pontil. Height "5 ½ / 14 cm and "4 / 11 cm respectively. Condition: fine, except for a minimal scratch mark to the bowl of the rummer.

A beautifully carved and gilt boxwood figure of Guan Yin / Guanyin. The goddess is holding the holy Buddhist scripture and has placed her hand between the open pages. China, Republic period, c 1920. The surface of the carving is covered with a thin layer of red that mixes with the gilt. The figure can be fixed to an oval wooden stand. Height (the stand not included) "4 ¾ / 12.3 cm. Condition: fine.

Beautiful dish or bowl with a landscape and cottages in Famille rose colours and gold within a diaper border in pale turquoise. Early Qianlong, first half of the 18th century. Diameter "9¾/ 24,8 cm and height "1½/ 4 cm. Condition: two hairlines, one piece reglued (cf. pics).

A collection of antique Ethiopian silver jewels, most of them Coptic Christian crosses. There is also a digit finger ring for a lady, and an ear spoon. Old Ethiopian silver, like these crosses, usually has a very high silver content, but is not hall marked. However, all these items have been tested for a silver content of at least 925 /1000. Faience pitcher by Aegitna in Vallauris, France. Aegitna or Saltamacchia was one of the first ceramic workshops established in the village of Vallauris near Cannes and the Mediterranean. Vallauris was to become the most famous center in postwar Europe for the renewal of ceramic art, and many modernist ceramists like Picasso settled there to work. A French lavishly decorated urn-shaped vase with handles, c 1850 in Rococo Revival style. The foot and bowl in the classical manner have been made separately and are joined by brass and iron parts (extra photos transmitted on demand). Two stoneware tiles from the “Fritte” range, designed by Aldo Londi and produced by Bitossi in the 1950s for Illums Bolighus, famous design department store in Copenhagen. Impressed fish motif with fused glass – Italian “fritte” – one in Rimini Blu, the other a light olive green. Aldo Londi was the artistic leader of Bitossi. Aldo Londi for Bitossi: a massive stoneware vase, thinly applied glaze to the exterior a rhombic pattern of in orange and yellow with “volcanic” effects, and a glossy glaze to the interior.
