A collection of antique Ethiopian silver jewels, most of them Coptic Christian crosses. There is also a digit finger ring for a lady, and an ear spoon. Old Ethiopian silver, like these crosses, usually has a very high silver content, but is not hall marked. However, all these items have been tested for a silver content of at least 925 /1000. A complete set, a parure, of pendant, earrings and brooch made of silver with marcasites and gold trimmings. All parts with little scenes in gold of grazing deer, the gold having been cut out and soldered onto the silver underneath. Made around 1910-20, probably in South Germany or Austria. All marcasites except those of the pendant are set with prongs. The gold content is over 10 carats and the silver which is unmarked except for the earrings (marked Sterling 925) exceeds 900/1000...

K&P started up in 1887 and specialized in hand made sterling silver and imitation stones jewelry. The diameter of the little paste flowers is "1/4 / 8 mm, each with impressed KP shield mark and 925. Elegant silver filigree brooch, a Norwegian solje. Less exuberant in style than most filigree solje brooches, without any enamel or gilt - just two shimmering roundels and the traditional chains holding the little pendant ornaments. Silver standard mark 830S and the pin hook with the three crowns of the Swedish hallmark – the brooch was made around 1900 when Sweden and Norway were united (the union was dissolved in 1905).
