Here is a romantic stick pin for your lapel, depicting a woman in profile with a pearl nestled into the curls of her hair. It would make a great gift for a man or a woman, or a sweet addition to your own collection. Marked 14k, it’s made from yellow gold, and signed by the maker, Whiteside & Blank. It measures 2-3/8”, and weighs 2.0g. The pin is slightly bent, and the back is dented a little, but this doesn’t detract from the beauty of this enchanting jewel when worn. Historical note: Mr...

Here is a delightful lioness with emerald-green glass eyes, and a diamond in her mouth. The detailing of her face – whiskers, mane, etc. - are very nicely done. She is made from unmarked but tested 14kt yellow gold. Her head measures 1/2” x 5/8”, and the total length is 2-3/4”. The pin is very straight, which is rather unusual! In excellent antique condition. Circa 1900. The photos are part of the description. Please examine them carefully. Thanks! We do lay-away...

Here is a sweet little pendant or charm made by Jean-Baptiste-Emile Dropsy, one of the famous French medalists. The design was usually made out of a heavy gold plate, but this one is 18kt rosy gold. Signed by Dropsy on the front, as is usual with French medals, it measures 1/2” in diameter (with the jump ring, 7/8”), and weighs 1.5g. In excellent condition, showing a gentle patina, and circa 1900. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefully. Thanks! We do lay-away...

Here is a Victorian book chain, 17” long, with two spring rings. Men: use it for your pocket watch, in true Victorian style (great for cosplay – especially Steampunk or Dickensian-type events.) Ladies, you can do the same, or hang a locket or charm on it! Each link, which looks like a little book – hence the name - has a pattern stamped or engraved into it. Some links show some wear consistent with age. It weighs 17.1g and is quite charming! The photos are a part of the description...

SOLD! THANK YOU!
This lovely fellow is rare and wonderful. He is enameled in rich tones of blue, green, coral and yellow, and carries a tiny pearl in his beak. The dimensionality of the jewel is so unusual – the bird is about ½ inch deep! (And 1-1/4” tall x 1-1/4” wide.) It is very unusual to see a bird flying straight out; they are nearly always in profile. It is hollow, and the back is marked 900 for silver fineness, and also with the intertwined H and S for Hermann & Speck of Pforzheim, Germany...

Here is a lovely orchid brooch, made from richly-colored, unmarked but tested, 10kt yellow gold. It has excellent detailing, an old European cut diamond (approximately 1/3 of a carat), and a fan pearl. Weighing in at 2.6g, it measures 1” by about 7/8”, is very dimensional, and very Art Nouveau. It is unmarked, but we believe it was made in Newark, NJ based on its construction...

This stick pin is really interesting. It depicts a crescent moon – symbol of the female principal, intuition and new beginnings; an arrow – symbol of swiftness, Sagittarius, and sexual attraction (Cupid’s bow!); and a 5-pointed star, symbolic of so many things we won’t even start! It is set with 11 turquoises (birthstone for December, believed to be good for healing and focus), and one seed pearl...

This beauty is probably a mourning piece, with its black enamel flower. It has a tiny central old-cut diamond, and is made from 18k gold. There is a little chipping to the enamel, but it’s still quite lovely. The flower measures 1/2†x 3/4†and the whole thing is 2-1/2†long. Circa 1900. The photos are part of the description; please examine carefully. Thanks! Shipping, handling & insurance within the USA included.

This wonderfully detailed pin is by Edmond-Henri Becker, one of the best-known French medalists from the turn of the last century. The front shows Joan of Arc (patron saint of France and of soldiers) in profile, also a shield decorated with a sword, a crown, and 2 fleurs-de-lis. Above her head is a banner saying “Jehanne d’Arc” and “1429”. The back shows a banner with a figure which is hard to make out, and two people praying. Also shown are a spear, the pommel of a sword, and a leafy ...

Here is a very pretty starburst pin/necklace, perfect for a wedding (or any other occasion!). Made from 14k gold (marked and tested), it’s set with seed pearls and an old European cut diamond in the center. It has a maker’s mark in the shape of a Maltese cross. Measuring 1-1/8”, it weighs 6g. The bail folds down nicely for when you want to wear it as a brooch. The 18” chain is gold filled, and not original to the piece. It comes in an antique dark blue velvet box, somewhat worn, but swe...

Here is a fantastic necklace, in the style of Murrle, Bennett and other Arts & Crafts designers of high renown. It is unsigned, which is not unusual. It features a central silver panel with a big labradorite cab, 3/4” x 9/16”. The whole panel with dangles measures 13/16” x 1-7/8”. The wearable length is 24”, and there are 20” worth of labradorite beads, most having the distinctive and beautiful blue flash for which that stone is known. The clasp has a very pretty flower and leaf desi...

This is a very special necklace, combining an Art Nouveau central panel set with a freshwater pearl and a sapphire-blue glass stone, with an Etruscan-style fringe. Unmarked, it really looks like gold, however it tests as rolled gold or gold fill (we didn’t test the fringe for fear of obvious damage). The central panel measures 1-1/4” x 1-1/4” including the dangles. In total, there are 11 graduated dangles or drops, the longest being 3/4” and the shortest 3/8”. The total length is 16”...

Here is a lovely Victorian cameo, set in flourishes of yellow gold and decorated with 4 pearls. The background is a slightly darker pink than the lady. The attention to detail in the carving is very nice, and she is in excellent condition. There is one missing pearl, but it’s unnoticeable. It seems to say “SIG” in script across the back. The bale is signed with “10K” inside what looks like a stylized “C”. It measures 1-13/16” not including the bail, by 1”. We have some chains ...

Here is a Victorian gold-in-quartz (also called “gold quartz” and “gold-bearing quartz”) brooch. Gold-in-quartz is rare and becoming more so. It’s our understanding that it is now found in very few places in the world – possibly only one mine in California. The 14kt yellow gold setting has twisted gold on top of a carved gold oval. It measures 1-3/8 x 1-1/8" and weighs 6.8g. The pin assembly has been replaced. In excellent condition. The photos are part of the description, so please ...

This pair of matching gold pins is made from richly-colored yellow gold. They would make an excellent addition to your collection of Victorian jewelry! Measuring 1-1/4” x 1/4”, they say “BEBE” on the front. They test as 9k, and together they weigh 3.0g. The findings are signed “VID”. There are tiny flowers and other floral designs at the edges. It looks like the safety-pin findings are old replacements. One of them has 2 brownish stains on the back, invisible when worn, of course, ot...
