This beautiful 14k (tested) rose gold brooch has a floral and crescent moon motif (the crescent moon is the symbol for intuition and new beginnings), accented by 10 rose cut diamonds in closed-back settings. The diamonds sparkle very nicely. It has 2 makers marks: an oak leaf in an oval, and the letters “JR”, and possibly another that is illegible; no hallmarks. It measures 1-1/2 x 3/4”. The shaft connecting the flower to the backing has been repaired...

This lovely and unusual Georgian pin is most likely a mourning piece. Made from 18k yellow gold, with rose gold and platinum accents, the center panel has two hearts (one of gold, one of platinum) under beveled crystal. It is surrounded by gold and platinum flowers and leaves, and has a delicate cannetille framework. It is unmarked, but tests as 18k. It weighs 3.6g or .12oz, and measures 7/8” x 5/8”, so it is quite small. Probably English, it is circa 1835...

Here is a classic Victorian pendant/pin or brooch, with a pinwheel motif, and 9 lovely bright dark purple garnet and glass doublets (from the period when amethysts were quite rare and expensive; they made these doublets out of comparatively inexpensive material but a lot of labor, which was much cheaper), and many seed pearls. It has both a pin stem assembly for use as a brooch, and a jump ring so it can be worn as a necklace. It is stamped 10k on the clasp...

This striking pin is composed of 2 beautifully engraved silver circles intertwined with an oval, and set with ovals of agate of various colors. Agates have been used in jewelry going back into antiquity. They were thought to ward off storms and headaches, attract strength, and to affect dreaming. Queen Victoria became enamored of Scotland during her reign, so everything Scottish became popular during that period (except, perhaps, haggis!), especially post 1848 when she bought Balmoral Castle...

The moon is set with 21 round and cushion cut rubies, and 19 diamonds. The diamonds are set in silver, and the rubies in 14k rose gold. Emeralds (birthstone for May) have been thought to bring wisdom and preserve love. These sweet bright green emerald earrings are made from unmarked but tested 14kt rose gold. They are 13/16” long, and the buttercup settings measure 1/2” across. The stones measure 5-1/2mm across. I believe the ear wires used to have hooks to slip into, but those are not present and the stubs have been smoothed over. One of the emeralds is chipped in the back, but both stones face up well...

Here is a sweet little pendant or charm made by Jean-Baptiste-Emile Dropsy, one of the famous French medalists. The design was usually made out of a heavy gold plate, but this one is 18kt rosy gold. Signed by Dropsy on the front, as is usual with French medals, it measures 1/2” in diameter (with the jump ring, 7/8”), and weighs 1.5g. In excellent condition, showing a gentle patina, and circa 1900. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefully. Thanks! We do lay-away...

Marked "9CT" and WHH for William H Haseler, and most likely made to be sold by Liberty & Co, this lovely pin features a leaf motif in red and green enamel, on an "entrelac" or interlaced frame of gold, with 3 colorless paste stones. The gold is yellow, though in places it looks rosy. It measures 1-3/8 x 1/2” and weighs 3.2g. The hinge has an old repair, otherwise in very good antique condition, and circa 1900 (According to V...

Here is a fantastic necklace, in the style of Murrle, Bennett and other Arts & Crafts designers of high renown. It is unsigned, which is not unusual. It features a central silver panel with a big labradorite cab, 3/4” x 9/16”. The whole panel with dangles measures 13/16” x 1-7/8”. The wearable length is 24”, and there are 20” worth of labradorite beads, most having the distinctive and beautiful blue flash for which that stone is known. Here is a lovely Victorian cameo, set in flourishes of yellow gold and decorated with 4 pearls. The background is a slightly darker pink than the lady. The attention to detail in the carving is very nice, and she is in excellent condition. There is one missing pearl, but it’s unnoticeable. It seems to say “SIG” in script across the back. The bale is signed with “10K” inside what looks like a stylized “C”. It measures 1-13/16” not including the bail, by 1”. We have some chains ...

This wonderfully detailed pin is by Edmond-Henri Becker, one of the best-known French medalists from the turn of the last century. The front shows Joan of Arc (patron saint of France and of soldiers) in profile, also a shield decorated with a sword, a crown, and 2 fleurs-de-lis. Above her head is a banner saying “Jehanne d’Arc” and “1429”. The back shows a banner with a figure which is hard to make out, and two people praying. Also shown are a spear, the pommel of a sword, and a leafy ...

This beauty is probably a mourning piece, with its black enamel flower. It has a tiny central old-cut diamond, and is made from 18k gold. There is a little chipping to the enamel, but it’s still quite lovely. The flower measures 1/2†x 3/4†and the whole thing is 2-1/2†long. Circa 1900. Here is a Victorian gold-in-quartz (also called “gold quartz” and “gold-bearing quartz”) brooch. Gold-in-quartz is rare and becoming more so. It’s our understanding that it is now found in very few places in the world – possibly only one mine in California. The 14kt yellow gold setting has twisted gold on top of a carved gold oval. It measures 1-3/8 x 1-1/8" and weighs 6.8g. The pin assembly has been replaced. In excellent condition. The photos are part of the description, so please ...
