Charming Chinese soapstone carving of two children, beautifully carved with much attention to detail, two boys one holding a long string with coins for good luck and prosperity, the other with a straw hat and fan, symbols of the lucky gods. The soapstone itself is a very beautiful yellow color with striations and much character. On nice hard wood base.

Charming Original photograph of smiling village children by the famous photographer, Si Cho Ko. From Taiwan, Si Cho Ko has traveled and exhibited extensively including the National Art Museum of China in 2007.

A fine Japanese ikebana basket hand-woven from bamboo, cane, cedar root, and urushi lacquer. Signed by artist Jiro Yonezawa (b.1956).
Jiro Yonezawa attended the Beppu Vocational Arts Training Center in 1981 and spent a year as an apprentice to Masakazu Ono. Later on, he continued his training at the Oita Prefectural Beppu Industrial Art Research Institute. He lived and worked in the United States from 1989 to 2007. In 2008 he returned to Japan and built a new studio in Oita Prefecture.
