This is the 160th revised edition published in 1989 by Bukkyo Dendo Kyokai and printed by the Kosaido Printing Co., Ltd. Tokyo,Japan.Hard cover with dust jacket in near mint condition. Silk bookmark.

"On Heroes, Hero~ Worship and the Heroic in History" written by Thomas Carlyle and published by Frederick A. Stokes (NY) in 1893. Former library copy. The end papers have stamps and there is a label and mark on the spine otherwise in acceptable condition.

This is the French edition published in 1931 by Calmann-Levy. The red boards show signs of wear on the edges and the pages have yellowed. A name is written in blue crayon or pencil on the front endpaper otherwise unmarked.

First Edition(unstated) published in 1898 by Houghton Mifflin, Boston. Red cloth. The front endpaper has a small tear and there is a pinpoint nick on the text block edge otherwise a fine, tight copy. Very very light foxing,generally on the pastedown. 304 pp.

A lovely little jar with top that measures 2" x 2-7/8". Label reads"Made in Japan". Light wear.

No date given.The pages have darkened and the pastedown shows minor wear and a bit of spotting otherwise the book is fine. The boards are brown featuring a burgundy design with gilt lettering on the spine. A faint school stamp is on the title page. 244 pp.
